Hey All,
The car is undergoing some changes for 2005....As we speak, the car is at the body shop being painted...
We pulled off all the carbon fiber and replaced it was a DRFT S15 front bumper, and DRFT S14 sides...
The hood we replaced with a JUN Style S15 carbon hood, which we plan on leaving in carbon...
We also ordered Inner Circle Conversion fenders..
Because of all the comments on the unpainted carbon, it was easier to simply replace all of the panels and repaint the entire car...
The car should be done in 2-3 weeks, and I will post pics of the new setup....
nice can't wait to see it all finshed :)

That car wasn't too bad, it just didn't match. Black cars look good with CF. Couldn't the CF have been painted? Looking fwd to seeing the improvements.

i honestly hope you're not painting it just because people here don't like it. i dunno about everyone else, but i don't consider my car property of zilvia.

I'm not... It's just time for something new.. Customers get tired of seeing the same car...

^I was thinking the same thing. Not to mention the fact that when everyone was bagging on the all CF car he said that 90% of the people who see the car love the unpainted CF. If that's the case I say leave it like that. Is it my thing? Nope. But if everyone but Zilvia likes it, leave it.

The car is in the Jan issue of HCI magazine... In order to stay in the magazines, the car is going to have to go through some transformations, including a big single or upgraded twins turbo upgrade, in order to have a 2005 feature or cover shoot...
Since the carbon fiber has already been shot, I wanted to either paint it or put on a new kit... Since we can clean up the edges better working with fiberglass, I figured this would give a more show type appearance.
Just wait and see...

im pleased with your decision to keep the car, and to change up the appearance a bit! keep up posted! :2f2f:

I never got tired of the McLaren F1, NSX, 360 Modena. Even the Testarossa, I am still not tired of.
Ferrari F50 uses a dry CF shell, but its painted. Why? Because naked CF is guady.

Yes, keeping the same color blue... It's House of Kolor PBC-36 TruBlue Pearl...
and yes, I am keeping the wheels, but the centers are being painted PPG Titanium Grey...

I wouldn't doubt they'll end up on ebay.

No, the carbon parts are already accounted for...

the two car deal is still in the works...the guy still wants my car, but I can't do anything until my car gets out of the body shop. especially now that its already been stripped of the carbon...
I got lots of calls during and after the auction, but it's hard to tell who is a serious buyer and who isn't....
I had lots of big talkers and big promises made, but nobody has showed up at my doorstep with a check...

You know, building projects like this: once you get it done, and you are happy with the result.... you kind of get the bug to move on.
I'm not the LEAST surprised you are looking at changes. You guys did a helluva job with that car, Chris, and I'm sure you are very pleased with the result (as you've mentioned several times).
But, it was a completed project. Now, its time to change things around. Change the appearance. Change the engine (I really hope you decide to keep the twin scrolls. That really makes it a unique swap.)
And, if you end up selling the car, GREAT: an opportunity to start a whole new project.
Good luck.

How is the motherland? Lol....
I kind of miss having nothing to do in Arkansas..
Now I leave with my new job on Sunday night and come home on Friday night....
Thanks for your support with the car. Most people would only dream of owning a RB 240sx in our community, and I am gracious to have that chance.
I do look forward to seeing the new changes...the car I think is really gonna come out nice...
Take care Joe...

Because I didnt want a car that looked like yours...let me explain...
Unfortunately conformity doesnt make magazine cars...and this car was a demo car for my business...it had to stand out...

I would paint the car black and leave the CF.

Im with him...i would have just painted the car BLACK and kept the carbon. But then again, like you said, it needs to stand out. All im waiting for now is for this thing to make 600hp....show and lots of GO. :wackit:

The bodywork is being done in Jackson, MS at a body shop that specializes in show cars, antique cars, etc...
In terms of the old parts, they are already accounted for...

When i first saw your car in the magazine, it was odd seeing a half carbon fiber, half blue car. At first glance, i thought it was just a quick swap with black s15 parts but then took a closer look and read the article. I just thought the blue didn't flow, I'm glad youre going with the changes. You already explained why you chose blue beside for the more graceful flowing black so I'm not going to bug you with the same question. The s15 front end is obviously personal preference but I like to stay close to oem. I dont like ignorant people going up to me saying, "hey, is that a s15? wait, 240sx? s14?" then you have to explain "It's actually a s14 with s15 front end and R33 RB26dett motor." I own a kouki and alot of people, especially honda owners, still ask me if i have an s15 conversion. Can't wait to see the new look, post pics when its ready.

I need to hire you if you can build a car completely from scratch, from ground up, paint, body, etc...
You are a 1:1 billion find if you can do all of this...Must be nice...
The car is probably one of the nicest 240SX's in the country, because it was built right... We took it to some of the best shops in their particular fields to have the car built... Whether it be body work, motor work, tuning, etc...
Keep in mind, I run a retail parts store.. I don't have a shop that actually builds cars..
yeah dude, who cares about buliding your own car if you can have someone do it for you and do a better job at that?
personally, i'd never wanna do the work on my car if i had someone else that could do the better job for me...i like driving my car, especially when it runs well and looks good haha

Hey, gang. Just a reminder: Underground Motorsports is a RETAIL shop. Unfortunately, at this time, they do not have a shop to do major work of this sort on a vehicle. I know that at one point they were looking at getting squared away with the City to lease the space to have a shop to work on vehicles. But, that particular city did not want another "tuner" shop putting "street-racers" on the road, so they denied the license.
I don't know whether or not Underground Motorsports is going open a mechanical shop in the future, but as it stands right now, they are a RETAIL shop.
So, yes, they did need to send the car to different locations to get the work done. Any RETAIL shop building a car would need to do so.

hey umsports guy... a lil off topic.. but i saw a public TV chl. by mistake... and it was a car show at the track.. in destin... then they showed your car.... damn.. it looked pretty damn nice on tv than it did in your pictures here...

We get that alot....
The car is extremely hard to shoot because of the fact that it has so much carbon fiber.. It makes the car look dark and undefined....in pictures..
But in person, its absolutely stunning...
P.S.- I'm here in Miramar Beach, FL... I just got in around midnight... I'll be here for a week, hit me up...
