I got talking to this guy the other day. I guess he saw my 240 and thought I was a cool ricer dude. He then procedes to tell me that he has a 90's celica with the engien taken out and was waiting until he saved enough money to put a ca18 in it. What the heck. Has anybody heard of this crazy engien swaping. I don't think the damn thing will fit right in there. Oh and to top it off he invited me to come hang out in the wal-mart parking lot one night with his cool friends. I wanted to kick him in the teeth.

When i destroyed my tranny..i had the car towed, the tow truck guy asked if i "raced" and i was like shure. Well he then tells me he bought a BNR34 GT at a Junk yard, and he only payed the tow bill wich was like $500 and he said he was gonna out a KA24 in it becuse the GT had a single turb engine. he said it was getting painted some funky color with orange stripes and decals. neon, NOS, etc.

But a few weeks ago a guy in an old crx told me my 240 was way too low and I would blow my shocks and crack my control arms and never have it properly aligned and everything because it happened to his honda. Then i told him i have real coilovers that are double height adjustable so the dampning stroke is not affected by height unless you adjust preload. And that i had adjustable everything to keep proper suspension geometry and have it alligned exactly to the specs i desired. Didnt convince him tho, he was still sure that my car would fall to pieces like his honda did, didnt argue with him though.

i know noeone cares...i have personally taken the whole drive train apart a few times and the engine...I would be happy never to see another GT-4. but thats back when i worked for a shop that mostly worked on BMW, Mercades, Porsche, Ferrari etc. but this guy dropped alot of money into our shop and so we worked on his 400+hp all trac.

The only time ive ever gotten to drive a ferrari 360 Modena.

Well, actually Nissan did it. With the 87-89 Pulsar SE. It came with the CA18DE motor, FWD, and a 5-speed tranny. Really sweet cars if you can find them. Light weight, 140 hp, everything you do to a 240 CA18 you can do to this one. I had one lined up but it slipped through my fingers.....damn it.

I agree the guy with the Celica was talking shit, but you never know. A friend of mine here in AUS bought a FWD CA18DET and put it in to an N13 Pulsar. It went pretty hard too. I guess with a bit of work and custom engine mounts, gearbox work, etc this celica guy could back up what he said if he had the balls to do it.

I dunno about the CA18, but i DO know about frats...they are WACK as hell. I was pledging one and depledged after 2 months...never again will I look at those beautiful houses the same way again. Beautiful on the outside but ugly as sin on the inside.

Yeah it was the SE model from 87' to 89'. They only made like 2000 of them so they're hard to find. There's a few here in the bay area but the damn owners don't want to sell!!! They don't even know what they have.

I didn't know that...Maybe he wasn't bs'n. But however, I doubt he knows what he's doing.

i seriously doubt that a ca18 would fit into his celica. There would be mounting issues and a headache of problems to overcome. It would be more practical to do a 3sgte swap. In reference to doing an alltrac conversion would be costly since the alltrac layout isn't even the same to the st84 (90-93) layout. That foolio is a ricer.
