Well, I finally got to drive an SE-R Spec V. I am not too impressed with these. They look good from the outside, but everything inside feels off. The shifter is on the floor, the dash is high and the steering wheel is kinda big. I also noticed when I was accelerating and trying to push the car that it didn't feel anywhere near as quick as the 240. Odd.
Torque steer is MAJOR in this car.
Have any of you guys driven an SE-R and noticed it felt slower? Also I got pics of the new g35 to post. I'll get them posted tomorrow or Monday.

the shifter in the Spec V SUCKED. and yeah, the car i test drove also had some mad torque steer issues under hard acceleration.
G35 RULES!

I dont like anything about the Spec-V ... first off its front wheel drive. Secondly ... its a sedan. The QT motor just doenst cut it in my book. The acceleration feels lethargic because of the wacky torque curve and the VVT. I like the 6-speed and limited slip on paper but in real life they suck on the car. Just the title screams rice and has nothing to back its self up with (Sentra SE-R Spec-V) unlike the badass god of all cars, the Skyline, which can easily back up its namesake. Im surprised at the 2.5L ... I would have assumed that nissan would have tried to get more rice-burners with a smaller turbo motor that put out high hp and no-torque, like a Celica GTS.
datsunman, you echo my thoughts exactly. THe SE-R "V-spec" is nothing like the GTR (Or even a GT-T... ). Nissan NA were trying too hard to emulate the Skyline with this one, as is obvious through the badging and exterior.
Yes, it looks good on paper, but in real life it not only looks like shoit, but according to those who've posted, drives like it too.
good job, nissan NA.

Okay. I uploaded all my pics to the web. I've got three of the g35, one of an s13 convertible and two of a frontier that the dealer has tricked out. I am usually not a fan of lowered trucks but I do like this one..maybe you guys will too.

Yeah...my friend test drove it and he said pretty much the same thing...
BTW...has anyone noticed on the front...there's that BIG ASS UGLY gap like there SHOULD be a giant intercooler there...but there's not?
I think that's damn ugly.
Anyways...i don't think the se-r vspec will be that great...

Ok about the Sentra, won't the car not perform as well right now becuase it hasn't been broken in. Someone told me that the break in mileage for the car is something like 4K miles.
If all this stuff about the car bieng slow then oh well I don't plan on getting it, but I love the interior and the fact that the audio package comes with 300-watt system, and that it has an enclosed subwoofer.
For those who drove, does the system sound good?

My favorite infiniti will always be a Q45, 300+ HP and very comfortable. I sat in it at the autoshow, it even has a camera on the trunk. The back seats recline, navigation, and a very nice system. If I ever get a Sedan I will have to keep it in the Nissan family and get a Q45 and/or a Nissan Maxima the older ones.

I have yet to drive the new SE-R, even if it feels slow, on the track a completely stock spec v ran in the advanced driver group and was passing the classics with exhaust, header, intake, cams, and ecu, that doesn't seem to bad to me.

Ok, i have to defend my brother a little bit here... but he just bought one in chicago, and! guess what.. it IS faster than a 240.. i have a 95 manual with intake and short shift and my brother cant drive at all and its faster.. trust me... the steering does blow in it when accellerating hard though your right.. but as far as speed its faster.. also the handling for a taller 4 door car is quite nice.. we took it around the same corner that i like to take and it was just as good on a 40% left hand turn at 40mph i have one bad strut but they are both comparable on that test. the interior isnt bad at all we had ours factory done up in black leather so its not just red and black.. the leather makes it look sweet.. and the only thing about the interior i dont like is everything is hard plastic so when my knees hit the dash it hurts.. no padding anyway.. enough for now..

iirc the spec-v went through the slalom faster than any stock car SCC had tested...........yes the itr is included in that
from what i've read the car is fast, it's just not easy to get it to be fast. it takes an experienced driver familiar with the car to extract all of its potential, hence why everyone's first impressions are not as good as they should be.
