I got a "Check Engine Light" today, how do i find out what it is? I havnt messed around with the engine ever. The only thing i did today was just get a new air filter.

just for shits and giggles go ahead and disconnect the - battery cable for aboout 30 minutes and the go drive it around. It the light it still their pop out the ecu in the passenger compartment and read the code and then look it up in the FSM.
don't have and FSM? well you could downlaod one but I don't know were so your going to have to search for that.

pull the ecu and put it in diagnostic mode. presto!

nah, your old filter musta been really clogged up that the ecu started adjusting itself for that air flow... disconnect your battery for a full hour and that should clear it. Once you done that, be sure to put a hundred miles or so for the computer to make final adjustments.

well i did the test thats for the SOHC 240. The light came on again today so i did the diagnostic the correct way.
so the codes were RED light: 3 blinks GREEN light: 2 blinks then i got RED light: 3 blinks and Green light : 3 blinks.
these are the codes:
32* EGR function
33 Exhaust gas O2 sensor circuit
i will replace the O2 very soon but whats the EGR?
