Just got my silk roads in today. cant wait to get em on, but first..

of course the intructions are all in japanese and i can get most of it from the pics, but theres a pic that shows a measurement of 50mm down the bottom bracket on the rear and front.

50mm down, visually, i can see a hole drilled through the side. does this mean i cant drop the shock body past this point? theres also a hole drilled in the bottom too.

if anyone knows what the deal is with the 50mm thing let me in.

no one with silk roads knows this. i wish i had a scanner for those who can read some of it...
i tried emailing some dealers of silk roads but no replies.

Wish I could help you...but to be safe I'd say don't drop the lower bracket more than 2" from the highest position. Hopefully my Silkroad RM/A8 install goes smoothly too here in a week :squintd: Keep us updated if you find anything more about this, thanks!

gotta have at least 50mil in the bottom bracket. the hole was just for veiwing apparently. install this week! prolly gonna spend a ton of time adjusting them hehe

hope you enjoy them. ive had mine for about 2 months and the ride feels great. a little stiff and bumpy on crappy roads but ive gotten used to them.

why the hell would you wanna lower the bracket anyway, u still want a 4x4 ride

i just peeped over the instructions at a set we had at the shop.
the hole for the rear is to basically show you that you should not go above this point. ie.. No raising more than that. you can lower as much as you'd like but no more raising.
the front i did not see a hole but you should have at least whatever they said.. 30-50mm worth of thread into the front lower shock bracket to be safe.

i hope this helps you guys.. so lower away just dont go to happy w/ the raising

Yea, they're fine lowered past the hole. I ended up threading the shocks 1cm lower than the hole, and the stance is really good right now for my current tires.
