hey guys, im trying to take out my thermostat to test it because my car dosnt seem to warm up AT ALL driving in this 30-40ยบ weather.

Now... as you may have realized it is real cramped in that area and it is hard to reach ratchets and sockets in there. My question is what exactly do i have to unbolt to acutally take out the thermostat? I can see the 3 bolts holding "B" in the diagram and it is probably the easiest to remove. Can i take out the thermostat from just removing that or would i have to unbolt "A" in the diagram as well? I dont see how i can reach any type of tool in there.

any type of help is appreciated.

A attaches to the block
thermostat is between A and B
So you can take off just the B and replace the thermostat
or take the A off the block.
Whichever is easier 4 u

Do it the easy way.

Remove those 3 bolts on "B" that is the housing, so when you remove that, the thermostat will be exposed. Remove anything in the way, intake pipe, vaccum lines, etc.

DO you know how to test the thermo ?

next question... say it is stuck because umm.. its old and crusty? Will it be safe to try to move it to free it up?

just replace it if thats actually the problem, all you have to do is stick a screwdriver in there a flip it out
