They spend most of the day under the sand, and when they come out (mostly in the evening) they like to burrow in and out of the sand. They move so quickly in and out of the sand its almost as if they "swim" though the sand like water...

yep, they actually are skinks. sandfish is just what a lot of people call them.

We got him mega cheap. the aquarium, sand, heat lamps and wnat not would cost more than he did (luckily my gf had all of that except for the sand, she used to have a few reptiles) they usually run about 15 bucks or so. They like about 85 to 90 degrease in the daytime and around 80ish at night. They eat crickets or meal worms. I feed him two a day now because hes growing, but after they are fully grown they only need to be fed once every other day or so, some say even as little as twice a week.

The sandfish looks small. The alligator is pretty sweet though!
