i think VHT sells fabric paint... ive known a lot of people that used it and they have had no problem with fading whatsoever.. and theyve done it like a year ago.

Why dont you wash it? get some industrial grade carpet cleaner and pressure wash it, I would hope you wash it when its out of your car, just covering all bases cuz theres some people out there that would try to wash it when its in the car, if this doesnt work your out of luck. :barf:

Check another thread here... I know Makoto dyed his carpet black with okay results.

Another person, bought new carpet and had a site listed where OEM carpets for our cars was like $133 + shipping. Might be around the $150 price you want for brand new carpet. You even get to choose the thread count and color.

Supposedly its molded to our cars, OEM type fit with very little cutting. I've seen the results and its definitely a nice fit overall. Since I'm writing about it, how do you secure the carpet to the car? What do the pro's use? What can I use to secure it?

I know I'm going that route with my interior swap... if only I can get a clean dash....

washing it out with carpet cleaner works untill it gets wet enough and the rust begins to come out. It becomes a mess. 150 for new carpet is not too much makes your car loook better and smell better. :)

is ur car a s13? 2 words- Junk yard.. the SOHC carpets hold up pretty good, better quality then what came in all the DOHCs... I got mine for 10bucks. Took it home, shampooed it (yah not everyone has one, but its cool). and looks good as new.

dunno how bad your stains are but the oxyclean crap does wonders... it actually cleaned up the carpet so much in my truck that the newly cleaned areas stood out because they were so clean. not bad for $5.

Acc mats do fit pretty nicely, the only complaint I had about them is that there was no plastic under the drivers side ( foot rest ) but this was on the tester set we got over 4 years ago.

Most things do age like wine.

Go to home depot, get a 6' X 4' piece of black carpet cut... i used an indoor/outdoor boating type carpet, buy a can or spray adhesive and cut 2 pieces to fit.. works awesome.

does oxyclean really does as good of a job as Bill Mays makes it sound on TV?

and what about that orange clean stuf... whats the difference.. is one stronger??

hey makato, it says passenger side only? and not cargo area. I understand the cargo area but when they say passenger do they mean the driver and passenger sides? or is it just the passenger? :ugh: gettin confused.

I think they mean "Passenger compartment" which is bascially the area where you sit. Front seats and rear. The "cargo area" is what they refer to as the trunk. Its definitely confusing to say the least... especially if you order the wrong one and have to send it back.

Odd that my carpet and seats are brown, but the carpet in my trunk and trunk panels are light gray... what's up with that?

But isn't the padding and stuff going to be on the passenger side? Leaving you with a somewhat thinner material on the driver's side? Meh... whatever floats ya boat.
