Wanted to get some more information on this swap. How much custome work would need to be done in order to get this working the correct way. Any info on this would be greatly appreciate it. Im just trying to add up some numbers and see how much more would I have to spend and what all im going to need.
Engine is not the problem.
What all extra is needed on this swap. Is it as easy as putting Red Top into S13?
Thank You
Edgar

if im not mistaken i think it bolts right up, just get the wiring done right since i think its different than the s13 sr. u will need ur stock s14 driveshaft i think. thats about it, i dont recall there being anything special required, its just the engine is kinda expensive.

You need the rear diff, because the speed sensor is on the diff, and not the trans. Henceforth, your going to need the axles also, along with the s15 driveshaft.

I have a S15 in my S14 now. There are not that much you got to do... well its more then the other engines... You need to mod you driveshaft, rear diff with a speed sensor, diff trans mount (It a little harder to line up), and LOT of wiring and its harder then the other engines. You do not need different axles. I still have my S14 rearend and driveshaft. But its better buy a S15 driveshaft and diff with the engine. BUT this engine rocks! :rawk:

pretty much what link says. i bought mine with the S15 driveshaft, dif, and axles. so it all went in like it was meant to be there. if you plan on using the S14 speedo you need to buy a dakota digital SGI. to get it working properly.

Well I never had a red top. But I know its faster of course. I'm sure that I have a lot more top end power then a red top but about the same torque. But I do got to shift a LOT!! Main I think since I still had my S14 Auto diff with higher gears then a normal s15 would. But its a nice engine. Its a bit loud in the inside of the car but not a lot on the outside. The 6th gear is nice but if you want to save gas you got to be there all the time. This engine LOVEs to rev. My engine came with other things like cold air and Mines ECU and better coil pack. So my car is a little better then stock. I took my car to LS AUTO and they installed my engine. My engine cost me $2500 and they installed it for $2000 and thats for everything. Like wiring, intercooler install and piping, gauges, air con, fuel pump, mod my driveshaft and diff and other little things. Also they made my speedo work too. Overall I think its a very nice engine. But I do not think you should get it unless you buy the S15 engine cheap or you do the install yourself. Good luck! oh and heres a pic ;)

none. the driveshaft has nothing to do with it. the problem with the speedo is that the 6speed does not have a speed sensor like the 5speed. the speed sensor is in the diff. therefore if you don't have the s15 diff, you don't have a speed sensor. i really don't think the s14 driveshaft will work with the s15 tranny ad diff. i have to admit though ,that i didn't try it as i had the s15 driveshaft readily available.

Both S14 and S13 are not the same length. I think my S14 shaft was cut a bit to make it fit the 6 Speed. I think there lot more work with the S13.

2500 for the engine itelf isn't bad, but it's a great deal shipped. I got a buddy to pick up My S15 w 30000KM on it for 2800 but that included everthing except a diff and a Cuscu super single clutch. But the 2000 worth or shipping seemed steep. But that was from japan to My doorstep shipping.

Does anyone know if you need the output shafts to go with the S15 diff, or will the 5 lug 240SX SX stuff work?? Looking into getting a diff and switching that out too.

Hey i have a quick question I also have a S15 SR20 w/ 6 speed tranny... When you order a clutch kit does it have to be the S15 SR 6 speed or can it be any of the SR's? Im having a bit of a problem everyone keeps telling me that they dont carry it for the S15 6 speed. I should have my sr installed in my car by 1/05. $2800 for the engine is pretty good, I paid $3000 for a S13 Hatch that had the S15 SR in it already and the mods are:T3/T4 tricked out, Top feed fuel rail, 650cc inj., Bosch FPR, Custom FMIC, 3.5 inch DP into 3 inch exhaust, S15 rear end (Driveshaft,LSD, Axles, etc.), Optima battery w/ relocation kit, also SR was fully machined and bored, Cosmetic 1.2mm HG, New Wiseco pistons, new Stock Rods, polished Crank w/ new bearing and its controlled by a Microtech Ecu. Hopefully everything will turn out good.

Thanks in advance for any advice,
Paul
