what options are there for trannies for SRs that can withstand 650hp? im pretty sure ka/sr trannies can handle about 450hp reliably but how bout more power?

are z32 trannies way out of the question? or would i have to buy a tranny gear set or hks tranny? anyway i can make the sr/ka tranny stronger?

Spend the cash on a multi-plate clutch to not shock the drive line as much.

Z32 trans is not out of the question. A good friend of mine made a adapter plate to use a z32 trans on their silvia after breaking the 6th sr/ka trans. If you are intrested, I can see how much they would charge to make you one.

Some swedish guys are using an m5(might be m3) transmission on an s14...haha. I also recommend what the snail is saying since it will probably be the best. IF you ever break that tranny, then you can build that one up and i doubt you will breaking it then. Think about the price in the longrun, if the adapter plate costs a damn lot its still probably cheaper and less annoying than going through 6 transmissions. DO IT

all it needs is an adaptor plate? so the yoke and everything is the same? the rear for the driveshaft to slide in, where it slides into the crank, stock cross member area, and where is the shifter positioned?

I belive the yoke is the same as the one off a rb25, and even if the yoke is the same, the 300zx tranny is shorter, so a custom drive shaft will have to be made, but thats not much (150-200). Also since the tranny is shorter, you would need to extend the shift linkage, since the 300zx shifter is 4" foward. Once you have this, you have an undestructable tranny (800hp). My friend that has the 300zx tranny on his silvia is on this forum by the name of silviadriftr, and I would pm him on more info or prices from his shop to make you an addapter plate. Ps: they are not as $$$ as you may think.

Wouldn't it be easier to use an rb25 tranny? I'm just saying this because of the 300zx's remote shifter thing. The adaptor plate would be the same between the two though. Although it might be cheaper to just make the 300zx work because of the rb25's demand right now.

Don't know if you want to spend the money, but several of the JDM tuning companies make aftermarket trannies for the SR. Maybe something to look into.

It would be cheaper to get a hollinger transmission is the US. Hollinger makes the parts for HKS kits. HKS sells them under their name in Japan to save money on import tariffs. We don't have the same problems so, it is much cheaper to get a real Hollinger.
