So I'm on my way to taco bell the day after the first snow fall of the season and the roads were halfway decent around the NDSU campus, nothing I couldn't handle. Anyways, I come up to an S section before a stop sign of what was a straight road and its like a friggin skating rink. At first I downshifted to slow down and the vlsd locked up the rear wheels and I start sliding a bit so I push the clutch back in and push the brakes and tried to steer away from the curb, but I kept sliding until the curb stopped me. I probably hit it going 10 mph or so. I'm pissed. I had it towed today to a Nissan dealership and they will be calling me with an estimate tomorrow sometime. As far as I could tell there is only damage done to the front right suspension. Hopefully not much else. I need a winter car. Anyways, here's the damage.

i hit an island.. looks like the same thing that happened to me. you probably snapped your t/c rod and the lower arm probably pushed in. you'll have to replace both of those.

happen to my friend tryin to drift in a industrial area and he paniced when his radar scanner went off so he slammed on the brakes and went into a curb...

He broke the t/c rod and bracket that holds it, so the tire looked like yours.. we tied the control arm to the bracket with jummper cables to pull the wheel forward and limped it home. I had a replacement bracket that i was going to use (10bucks from junkyard) and got a spare t/c rod from a friend for 20bucks and bam, fixed it...

I just got word of what the actual damage was today. The lower control arm is bent, the steering knuckle is damaged, the strut was broken, tie-rod was bent, the tire rubbed through the fender liner, and then some alignment issues. I think I might be getting a new bottom lip though. It was broken when i bought the car on the right side so they think that happened from the accident. woot! Bout the only thing I have to be happy about. The estimate was just around $900. Sounded a little inflated to me, and if it happened in my hometown and was able to source all the parts I would probably fix it myself, but that's not the case so I'm kind of anxious to get it fixed. Insurance should cover it so hopefully everything gets worked out soon.

wtf your gonna report it to insurance? Dood believe me its not that hard to fix, I spent about 60 or so total and thats because I had to get a brand new ball joint, its not hard to fix man, do not spend 900

I know it wouldn't be that hard to fix but I would have to find someway to make it over 100 miles to my garage at home which would be a pain in the ass for me and my parents. Like I said, insurance should cover most of it. $250 deductable. Don't worry about it. I'll just do another medical study and I'll be set.

id look at that stuff myself if i where u, they might just be pushing to sell u more parts, cuz thats alot of items they listed as broken, when stuff pivots thats not really an extreme angle forced on them.

I'd say I trust the people working on it. They seem like they're good guys. Course that's all I have to go on, but I would say they're estimate is accurate. At least with the parts that need replacing. Not so sure about the prices, but I can't really wait too long to get it fixed.

My friend did the same thing to his s13 and he could of fixed cheap to, but he decided to buy an FC instead and later sold it s13 to some one for parts I think, anyhow 900 is way to much but hey its your deal. Good luck.

I see oppurtunities here, maybe your insurance will help you out with a tow instead of paying the stealership?

what I see is time for lowering springs and some good struts, some sweet tierods and tierod ends, some solid T/C rods, and a fun filled day at a junkyard

Yeah, I have considered all the possibilities, but chances are that I am going to have to sell it soon after it gets fixed cuz I have a shit-load of fines to pay for due to legal issues(not involving this incident btw). It will be one sad day to see my baby go if it does. Brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it.
