Alright I have lowered my 91 240sx with Sportline springs and KYB shocks. For some weird reason the rear right corner sits about 1/2 inch higher than all the other corners. I have checked the springs etc and everything seems to be good. Any Ideas of what it might be???. Some people say thats the way its supposed to be on some cars. Im not too sure. Ive tried different springs on and its the same thing. I have no extra weight on either side. anyone have the same problem>???

Wait a few days for the springs to settle.

Ive never changed springs but i would ahve to guess it's because of the amount of stiffness in that shock. :/

Most of the time that Ive seen when they dont all lower the same is one side or just the rear lower then its supposed to be. Have you tried switching the back 2?

Dude!

I just did AGX's and Pro-kit springs and I am having the exact same issue! I have already done about 1200 miles on the new springs and shocks, so I doubt it's a break-in issue.. My right side tires are nearly bald, while my left sides are fine, so that might be why I have more gap on my right side (rear in particular). I was going to wait till I got my new wheels and tires and then see if I still had the problem. I haven't gotten my post-lowering alignment yet, so that might also be the cause..

On a side note, when are we having another Riverside meet?!

Yes I have a similar problem with my Groundcontrol w/ Eibach springs and AGX shocks up front... It seems that passenger side can be lowered more than my driver side... My driverside is maxed low and it still isn't low or anything i have quite a bit of gap vs what my passenger side is if i were to lower it, Yes they are installed correctly had a shop look when doing my alignment they said it's probably the springs. HOW?! Springs are the same exact as each other and were custom ordered by eibach at the time. Oh well I hope somebody finds a solution, because right now the car is even in height but driver side is more compressed than the passenger :bash:

most people have this problem i think. people with coilovers can make up for it by adjusting the different sides to different levels.

not everything is perfect on a car, especially one that is 10-15 years old. metals bend and go out of shape. if you ever try putting on a bar across the car, strut towers, roll bars, nismo power bar, you'd know what i mean, its uneven, thats why companies that make those bars make it so there can be a little play when you put it on, not every car is still at original factory spec. Also the 240sx is decidely left heavy in terms of weight distribution, not just because of the driver either. just deal with it, its not that big of a deal.

Just lean to the left when you drive, noone will notice. :)

Actually you should check the "alignment" of the spring on the strut/shock assembly. The bottom end of the spring must fit snug into the groove at the bottom of the strut. Also the strut assembly needs to be aligned so that this portion is facing the front of the car.

Here's a pic of the assembly and what i'm talking about. Just print this out to read it better.

Hope it helps.

Oh almost forgot. On AGXs make sure your rear shock damper dial is facing the INSIDE of the vehicle. If it is your shock alignment to the car should be good. If you've got them backwards, switch em!!

hmm mine looks like its installed fine, even the shop said it was and said it was the springs but whatever its been that way since i went aftermarket... oh well

The best way to go is with a full coil over system. Has the car been in a accident? The frame can be bent just enought to throw the hieght off.

My advise is a good set of true coil over will do the trick.

Jump up and down on the passenger side a couple times.

a good set of coilovers should do the trick.

I can see why they would, because you can adjust the height and all, but isn't that just altering the dynamics of the car waaay to much? Why, just so you can fix that 1/2 inch of lean? Have you checked all the subframe bushings on the sagging side? Maybe you've lost some bushings in there or they're worn out and it's causing that side to sag? It just seems dumb to me to spend all that money on a setup only to go out and buy a whole new one that you don't need. Plus you'll never get your money back for what you'e already bought. Just seems liek a waste of money that you could spend on something else.

The other thing I thought of was maybe your car has some frame damage that's causing it to lean?

My car actually looks like is lower on the driver side and it has stock springs. Maybe the driver side dampers are giving out sooner or breaking in more due to the fact that I don't have passengers that much.

Car has never been in car accident. and i really dont think that a set of coilovers is a waste of money!!! If it does the job then its worth it. anyways ill check bushings and all but i dont really think its that. well see i guess
