What are the choices for a short shifter for an S14?
How are the OBX shifters?
Does it tighten up the slots when you shift or does it just shorten the throw?
Thanks <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
Also have Pilot, B&M and C's...

C's is a nice piece. You can also get a NISMO 1

OBX is great for the money but I'd go with B&M if you can afford it. It is both stiffer and shorter throw. The height however stays the same.

I have an OBX shifter, and I love it! I couldn't imagine a shorter throw, or a more solid shifter though...
Just my $.02-

I would have left this alone if it wasn't for that mad face. If you can't imagine a shorter throw, then try a B&M. I guess your OBX hasn't broken yet?
Edit: If I don't say it, a mod will and I'd rather be a dick then let them have all the fun so...daywalker, your sig is too big <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>
And if thats your engine...NICE...still to big for the sig tho, hehe

Anyone actually have a OBX break on them?
What part broke?

LOL- The angry face wasn't really supposed to be there in the first place...it was supposed to be this guy- (see top)
Anyways, I really do like the OBX shifter- It's a very comfortable throw, and it's weighted very nicely IMO. I did cut it down quite a bit though...(I like VERY short shifters...) I guess if this one DOES break, I will be looking for the B&M, although I'm really not into supporting the old domestic manufacturers too much if I can help it...
DSC- RELAX! Don't let such little things bother you!! LOL
I usually would tell you to try the search, but since I haven't got that to work again let me re post my thoughts.
Here are you choices on shifters.
C's
OBX
Pilot Motorsports
Monkey Magic
Nismo
B&M
The C's shifter is an original design and the OBX and PM shifter are replicas of that. They are still very good quality for the price. But the C's is just a rediculous price and Its worth more to just get the OBX or PM. However these units are two piece, but in all my experiences this is never caused a problem.
The Monkey Magic and Nismo shifter are a solid 1 piece so it will feel more solid. The Nismo piece only shortens your throw about 15-30% nothing you would even notice after me having one. The Nismo made lots of noise to since its just held in with a ring clamp. I have no experience with the Monkey Magic one, but I have had a few of there other items and they are top quality products. For the price of 130$ the MM SS looks very appealing.
The B&M Shifter is the most costly by far @ 300$ but its the best looking design however I hear mixed reviews about it. Some people say its a little loud at times but feels VERY good and is worth the extra noise. I don't have any experience first hand with this shifter so I cant give a full review of it.
Hope this helps!

I asked IPNMotorsports about the Monkey Magic Shifter, and they said that it is NOT a short throw shifter. it is a Solid Shifter. It does not shorten the throw at all according to them.
edit - Also the B&M is still cheaper than the C's. Every where I look for the C's it about 300-320. you can get the B&M for $259 at enjuku and many other places.

Chimp... the monkey magic shifter doesn't shorten at all? Sorry for my ignorance, but what's a "solid shifter?" I was planning on getting the monkey magic one, since it seemed to be the best bang for the buck. Thanks.
