I was just finishing the install of my engine, and relized that the front plug on the maf the one between the filter and the maf, was broke, is this needed, This is on an obdii car, I am going to guesse that it is, thanks.

When you say broke you mean the wires are disconnected...or the connector is crap?
And yes you need this plug or you will throw codes and run like crap.

Do you mean the small, 2-wire sensor...? Not the actual MAF plug, right?
That's the intake air temp sensor, it really doesn't do anything with regard to tuning.

Yes he would. I have a 96 (well, 10/95, but a 96 model, OBD2 and whatnot) and I have one. :naughtyd:

yeah i have the temp sensor on my 96 too.
wont he throw a code if its not there?

Thats the one I mean,the wires pulled out from the sensor, Is it a neccesity to have it, I plan on getting another one. but am hoping to be able to turn it on and make sure every thing is running right. thanks.

IAT serves only a diagnostic purpose, it won't hurt a thing not to have it.

You'll throw a code if you don't have it. I did and just plugged it back in and let in dangle around.
Other then that it doesn't do anything.

probably a good time to grab a z32 mafs as long as you have the safc and are shopping...
