Does anyone know where I can get my J-spec JIC coilovers rebuilt in Northern California (bay area - Sac)? And how much I should plan to spend per coilover?

Well you probably want JIC to rebuild them for you but, good luck...

You can ask Ground Control to look at them. They are located about an hour drive east of Sac. They build their own shocks, coil-over and race suspension so they can easily fix or revalve your shocks for you.

The thing is, I dont think it'd be cheap.

exactly why he said "good luck" . JIC has another bad mark on their rep as far as i'm concerned. which brings their total reputation to ERROR:OUT OF PARAMETERS

anyhow.. i doubt that ground control would be able to rebuild your coils. they do not have the right internal pieces...

word, I tried to get Koni to rebuild my Tanabe and they pretty much told me to fuck off. Tanabe told me to buy another set...bastards.

that is why everyone should buy zeal coilovers..
rebuildable in us.. also have spare parts =) woohoo!!!

zeal = not worth it. Get KTS and just buy new shocks WOOT.

Zeal's are definitely worth the money if you got the few hundred extra. KTS is good bang for your buck, but not the best stuff.

Who else has like 10 different line of coilovers.
stuff ranging from street to pure track..
ability to decide street or hard rates.
on certain coilovers.
it is free to change damping.. to suit the conditions.
can you say that about anyone else?
zeals are not cheap
but you get what u pay for.. especially now a days w/ the megan coilovers or weapon r coilover. or type r coilovers..

Rubbish...
remember zeals are serviceable in us with turnaround times of 2-3 days. SERVICEABLE not replace the whole thing.

100 dollars per corner..
125 for custom valving w/ rebuild...

Which is about par with what other ppl would charge if they did that service
hahaha...
FYI we have some zeals in stock.
also ppl who run zeals love them.
Ive had ppl run tein/jic and the moment they rode in a zeal equipped car they fell in love and switched over.
Not only is it a well balanced system for the novist it is also great for those looking to cut lap times.

Just curious, does Tein rebuild their shocks in the US? I know they are rebuildable but never found out how.

I called JIC US, the guy was pretty friendly, found out that they might start rebuilding them in a few months (I really doubt that). But the replacement damper is only $260 for my FLTA2, a bit pricey but it's better than paying for a new set or riding around with a blown shock. You can't pick them up, they'll have to ship it to you even though they're down the street from me.

Did the guy happen to say around how much it would be for the rebuilding even though I'm a bit skeptical as well. Just figuring out if it would be better to get another set. Maybe Zeals for the quick serviceability and service.
