How do I get the front speakers out of my S13?

I am trying to get the measurments from my speakers to make mounting brackets, but I can't get the speaker assemebly out from my front doors. Do I have to take the door panels out? Anyone have instructions?
I don't want to brake something getting the door car out and have no door panels &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':thumbsup:'>

Take off all of the door panel mounting screws, including the ones screwed to the interior door pull handle and the door latch release. Pop off these items.

Take a big flat screwdriver or prybar, better if you have a interior plug puller tool, and pry all the interior plugs loose between the door panel and the door. Pull it out about 40degrees, and then slide the door panel off. The top sits on a track which must be slid off from side to side.

Don't bother trying to pry off the speaker covers, it won't work. They are secured by steel tabs from behind. At best, you'll dent the door panel. At worst, they'll break and your gonna have to mickey mouse rig it.

Yeah nissan had the bright idea of putting the screws to remove the speaker grill behind the door, instead of where you could actually get to them. Just remove the screws for the door, and pull really hard.

Yeah...take out the door panels...by removing the screws, and all the other shit, and pull them off, carefully.
Then you can take out the speakers, make adjustments and shit, and then just put the panels on, and put everything back

Oh I forgot to tell you that there is a factory speaker enclosure that the 4x6 sits in. You can remove this enclosure and cut off the back with a dremel. The back is a half ass enclosure that is only about 2 1/2 deep, at most. &nbsp;Then get a drill bit and drill new holes, as appropriate to the new speaker your going to mount. Put speaker clips on the back of the new holes and screw in the new speakers. This works for 4x6's. For anything larger, use a piece of particle board (1/4" works well) and trace the template. Mount the particle board and then screw your new speakers on.
