What's the best car chase scene that you've ever seen in a movie or on Television?

the one with that old man in.... i think it was a bentley or rolls. How he was driving like 10mph and the cops were afraid to hit him to stop him that was great.

The best car chase is from the movie Bullitt. I mean im sure theres more exciting ones. But that is a REAL chase scene. There isint any special events there. I even read that the hub cap rolling of the car was a mistake and wasnt suppose to happen. That makes the scene tons better...

On Bullet...Steve McQueen did his own stunts and almost wrecked at the end..by inches...it was the best ever, a Stang and a Mopar doing war. Real men driving their ass off.

I've always been partial to the idiot that stole the Tank, then got high-centered on the concrete barrier on the highway. TARD!!

No one for the Transporter? It is definitely one of my favorites.

i have one vote against RONIN.. that's the most overrated car chase seen ever. Realistic? Yes, somewhat. The best? no way

Italian Job was ok, bourne identity was ok, there are some cool ones in James Bond movies, and also in Fled.

lol right.

and thats why the director of the boure identity took his cues from frankenheimer when it came down to the car chases.

and did any of the other movies have ex formula F1 drivers acting as stunt drivers for certain manoeuvers?

or a movie where 80 cars were destroyed.

I just have a thing for finely tuned German four-doors being expertly driven through crouded city streets.....even though my favorite of all time was Vanishing Point-(Dodge Challenger) :jerkit:

Actually it does look odd, the people can move very quickly. Either way...

so yeah i guess the win actually does help the car, shit im gonna go buy a mustang like that one and use it to drift....such control.....and at the same time ill have some cops hitting me in the back to start my drift....what a great idea.....lol........youd think a mustang would fall apart going faster then 80 ...let alone turning around in circles LOL so sad

.

can you please elaborate on what that has to do with what i said? Are you saying that because the same person choreographed both car chases, they have to be equally good? Or simply that frankenheimer is good at directing car chase scenes, in which case you agree with me that bourne identity had a good car chase scene, dorected by frankenheimer.?? ;) ;)

KoukiMonster
12-05-2004, 02:13 PM
im confused.

i was saying the person who supposedly directed the bourne identity car chase took cues from frankenheimers style of doing car chases which was shown through ronin.

OK..cool. I thought Ronin's car chase got boring after a while. Maybe i'm just too dumb, but it was boring. And i'm the type of person who usually likes realism in movies..but i dunno???

one more vote for gone in sixty seconds

ThatGuy

Gone in 60 Seconds (with Nicholas Cage) was great, right up until the bridge jump. Then it sucked!

PinkPanther

He should have just parked unicorn with it's fucked engine on that flatbed wrecker, drove it to the dock discretely, and called it a day. But then again it's Hollywood and good ol' Nick just couldn't pass up a perfect opportunity to bend the frame on a perfectly good mustang.

Nicholas Cage sucked. The Original was way better. Go rent it!
