Fremont: Running a red light

Ok so tonight at around 8:00pm i ran a a yellow light, that turned red on me. When the lights turned red i saw a bunch of flashes. (thinking OH FUCKING SHIT!) So i assume they took my picture for running a red light. Now i am curious if anyone on here has ever had this happen to them and how much the ticket is going to be.

I'm hoping that just maybe they didnt get a shot of my plates because it was night time, but i doubt it. Anyone had this happen to them?

its crystal clear nite or day, it has the speed you are going at, time and date. Just a 80 ticket no points or anything cause they dont know who the driver is.

i had the samething happen to me but it was on mowry right next to the circle k near 880. but that was in september and i still havent got a ticket mail to me yet. a friend told me i would have got the ticket by now. if your front plates was for enough in front so it couldnt see, dont worry about it. and if you dont get anything in the mail by 2-3 months then dont worry about it.

was it anyone behind you maybe/ or someone leaving their redlight too early? Usually 1/2 of all tickets never get mailed b/c not enough evidence.

i hope so, i was tailgaiting a suv(Landrover) so i hope the front plate wasnt seen. There was no one in back of my and i did see a flash. Either way it's good to know that it's only $80.

its actually not 80 dollars. my friend got caught by the camera and had to end up paying 370 or so. the cameras capture your car from all angles, and even get your face in the picture. sorry to burst your bubble though...

depending on the source. 30-50% of them get sent out as tickets. The registered owner gets screwed with the ticket.

fight it! if you challenge it to the fullest you have a damn good chance of getting the case dropped. this is especially true in SF. I heard that they just dismiss all cases of people trying to fight the tickets.

i run 1/2 red lights all the time, only saw a bright flash once, never recieved the ticket

depends on how far you are through the light when it turned yellow and then red if u were 3/4 of the way through ur not going to get ticketed they only usually go off if u run the whole light or jump the line

i dont remember where but in fremont i saw a couple of cameras faced the other way, so it can take a pic of the rear of the car.

they are on all angles of the street but the thing is they go under review before they are sent out by the police department or whoever sends them out.

unless they have a clear shot of your plate, the car in the intersection and the red light all in the shot they dump it. The cameras have a high failure rate but they still bring in the cash.

was this at night? 8pm is dark here and last time i checked photographing people inside a car at night time is freakin diffficult... as long as your face isn't shown "a friend" had your car..

The owner of the car is responsible for the ticket

How can they charge the owner if he wasn't driving? It's the person that commits the crime, not the vehicle. So the only person who is punishable should be the driver regardless of who the owner is. If someone else was driving your car, you can tell them that you weren't driving, they can't give the car a ticket. Tell them your friend's friend, mechanic, or whoever else was driving it if this is what truely happened. I do'nt know much about this matter, but it seems absurd. Just my thoughts, and not to be taken as facts.

Unless he reports the car as stolen that night, he as the owner will have to pay that ticket unless there is evidence supporting that he was not driving it.

Letters sent US mail and delivered are regarded as received according to case law.
