Hey Just posting it out there.... I know everyone's been noticing it going down.

Anything the community can do to help?

This is getting silly, we need to get ahold of owner fast. There has to be a way or even migrate the info over to another site.

Yeaaaa it's starting to become more frequent now. I don't even have an S-chassis anymore but I still visit this place. Not sure if it's a money thing or server hosting thing, but I'm willing to chip in to contribute towards improvement.

Noticing the crashes way more often as well. Is the site hosted in someone's garage? There's WAAAAAAAYYYY too much historical knowledge here to let Zilvia die. What can we do to help?

I don't even post here much anymore, but I've also noticed this on my visits lately. I wonder what the issue is.

How do we even contact Admins when the site goes down for weeks at a time?

I messaged them on Facebook every time I notice it. They’ve never responded to my messages. The Facebook group has been dead since 2018.

I’d recommend the admins use a monitoring tool like Pingdom

I'm scared one day it's going to drop off and never come back. 3 day outage this last time. I wish someone would tell us what's going on and how we can help.

Message Kevin Prat, he's an admin for the forum who helped me out with a recent account issue and may know the right people. I'm not sure what his Zilvia screen name is but he's an admin on the FB Group Zilvia 2.0.

I saw Kevin saying he is in the dark too.... this sucks, I want this place to stay alive vs. others like ziptied or other forums dying out.

My copypasta from FB:

So I'm one of Zilvia's admins, and your frustration is my frustration. I've been trying to contact the majority owner of the site (who happens to be the sole physical maintainer of the backend and its hardware) for the last 18-24months or so.

Until he sells the site to me or comes out of hibernation, this will continue. I'm most interested in taking the site over, as it will preserve the greatest amount of information.

That said, I've already purchased a domain and got a team of backers ready to get a new site launched if necessary.

Would it be illegal to straight set up a mirror i this site and copy over the data? Like the wayback machine?

Good to hear that you're trying at least. There's so much info here it would be sad to lose it.

I'm always worried it isn't coming back as well. Ugh. Been here for half of my life, can't imagine a day it doesn't exist.

Death Spiral.

Unfortunately these issues just make it harder for people to post and hold interest. Fewer posts = fewer posts and eventually it just becomes an abandoned site.
