According to MTV, it was 1) fix the car by the end of the year or else parents were going to give the car away, and 2) he wanted something that resembled a car from the video game...

Some parts are top notch, others was just a matter of slapping things on the car for sake of having it on the car. I warned MTV about fitment issues and offset but their main criteria was "18" wheels and 414 bolt pattern", so I had no choice but to accomidate them with the crappy offset.

So.... stop speculating about it so much.

Ok you guys are not understanding me.

They approached me at SEMA. Asked me for wheels. I STRONGLY SUGGESTED THEY DO A 5 LUG CONVERSION. I even sourced out the parts necessary but since no one had 5 lug S13 front hubs in stock I told them the S14 setup was a bit more complicated. They were already behind schedule getting parts, so they decided to scrap the 5 lug aspect of the project.

And I do have to say, they actually were the ones who chose the Hyper 5ZR 18" wheels... not us. The reason? Almost two years ago Universal Vivendi contacted us for permission to use our products in the game. We sent them almost every single wheel of ours for digital scanning as well as exhaust products, and U-V chose some of the flashier wheels to be used in the game (from their point of view since the wheels are not very large on the cars in the game it was more about the look than functionality...)

And when WCC was commissioned to do this project they went through the entire game and found the "best looking wheel" according to what is in the game. The kid wanted 5 spoke wheels, they picked a 5 spoke wheel. FYI the exhaust is an Apex'i N1, at least what I was told.

-- They do very creative, almost absurd, $hit.
-- WCC and Xhibit have lots of personality and enthusiasm.

HAHA! naw i dont think that's the case. If there's one thing i notcied is that PMR spares no expense. They will definitely dish out for expensive parts..as long as they make a visual difference. They will probably spend the most on body kit , rims and paint cause they makes the biggest difference and they naturally cost more,(duh) but i dont know how much they'll put into suspension. . As long as they kill the wheel gap..lol. i love that show.

On Overhaulin, they do comprehensive, quality body work, new wheels, refinish the entire interior, AND do engine work (half the time putting in a brand new crate motor) AND install brand new Hotchkis or Air Ride suspension. I saw one episode of PMR and decided it was a complete waste of time. They redid some chick's 30 yr old firebird. After they were done, the trunk was half filled with stereo equipment, the other half was filled with a clothing steamer so she could iron her clothes on the side of the road. Best of all, it had a freakin cappucino maker in the armrest! I mean, Goddamn that is AWESOME!!! "Sure, it only runs on 3 cylinders, drinks two quarts of oil a week, and has to be push-started, but look at dem purty, shiny wheels!!" And when it throws a rod, you can make some coffee while waiting for the tow truck. Every car they do should come with an AAA membership.

Preach brother!!!!!! Overhauling is about the love caftsmanship. Those guys on overhauling really put sweat and tears into the rebuilding of the cars and they results speak for them selves. Also, one major reason I perfer Overhauling hands down over PMR is because in all the episodes of PMR I've never seen them even touch the engine. Overhaulin on the other hand is handing out turbos and superchargers. And their finished products look CLASSY!!!!

Haha Talent and taste aren't mutually exclusive. I think they have gobs of talent but no "good" taste with which to apply it. We also need to remember that WCC isn't making all of the decisions. They don't rice out 360s or Vipers or Enzos. They have to do what's flashy to catch the eyes of the average viewer who isn't like us but is the "hey! look! pretty colors!" type of viewer.

The car was fine before WCC touched the car. the kid just needed money and to finish what he started. The old body kit looked better than the crappy invader style one they threw on. I cant believe they left him with the KA24E with an ugly green intake. One of the best thing about the 240sx is the engine swap or turboing the car. The spoiler was ugly and it is not even made for the car. i am not even going to ouch the color/paint job. The trunk wasnt too bad except for the GREEN (i am not saying i would do it cause all that weight isnt my thing, but it did look presentable). The racing seat he had before was better than the new ones, it just need some bride rails. did anyone noticed the thick alumium radiator with the bent fins? also i saw a post earlier abt why he needs 3 xbox, i dont own xbox but i think each player can use their own monitor without having to do split screens. The old hood looked to be a CF vented hood and the new ugly piece of crap was the worst thing on the car.

but on the up side, everything was free, so if i was him, i would strip down some of the new parts and sell it so he can repaint it, turbo it, and save the 240sx for real this time...

I think they did good at making it look like the game, the thing that REALLY made me mad was the seat... they destroyed a ok seat, he just needed new rails... wtf. My solution to this poor guys issues:

1) Remove all the stereo components, sell them and make money.
2) Part out the OEM black interior parts
3) Crush the car

then, you can take that money and spend it in buying an car that is stock, and doesnt suck. I cant believe how much of that car has been tampered with, and how everything that has been touched is worse off than it originally was. Who would want 3 x-box'es EXPLODING out of the rear seats? Who converts their trunk into a stereo holder?

This guy is just tasteless. To me, he is a icon of "American Culture" -- "Look at me, I cant manage to do something properly myself so I will sell out and posterize myself on Television to have my car further bastardized and defaced."

Turn the car into the ultimate gaming station. Cut the car in half and extend it, turn the roof into a flip up flat panel tv that flips up from the front, take out the engine and make the hood an ice cooler. Gut out every mechanical part in the car. Take the doors out and all the interior and put a Lazy Boy in it facing the back. THen put it in your room.

The only things decent on the ENTIRE car were the rims, and the steering wheel. i would say if he wants to save that car and make it half decent he should do the following:

Swap in a manuel tranny ,take off the graphics, spray paint the mirrors black, remove that funk-a-delic wing and put his stocker back on (painted the same gloss black as the mirrors), remove all that audio and video crap except maybe 1 sub ,an amp, and 1 XBOX ( put that in his room where it belongs) and sell the rest, paint the center of the rims the same black as mirror and stock wing. Tehn it'll be a little respectable, but with that erebruni body kit and dinosaur nostrols, it still has a LOOONG way to go. i actually liked the front bumper he origionally had on.

Half the 240SXs I saw had chrome tri-spoke wheels, some yellow stripes, a sub box taking up the whole trunk, and some of those beady little blue lens foglights. Maybe a bra and a windshield banner, too.

Tasteful modification is a relatively new phenomenon to the 240SX world.

The subs and stuff look cool, but after the show I would've immediately stripped the wing, hood, and front bumper. (Maybe the sides could be salvaged) Sell all the beat except one sub, xbox, and amp. Rip out the Auto KA and swap in an SR. The green didn't seem that bad in my opinion. The orange was a little much though.
