i was wondering if you have to register your car in california if you are a out of state student and im only here for 3 months left...i have out of state plates and i have a sr in my car...if i get it registered do i have to do a smogged rite away?

I have a friend he has washington plate for two years, he didnt has any problem. and i think if you are going to register here, you will need to get smog and inspection. if i were you, i wouldnt do it.

Try to leave your car registered in your home state or where you're coming from. You'll have to worry about alot more hassle getting it registered here if so. As long as your registered and insured from your previous residence, you'll be okay.

well if you are an out of state student and not a resident of california then no you don't have to do that from my knowledge.

leave your car with the reg it has not if not you will know what us so.cal people have too go thru too have a moded car also dont drive like a fool too attract the cops to pull you over

b.c the first thing they will ask "oh how long you have been in cali" then they will give you b/s too get your car registed.

to be tecnical you have too reg your car after 24days in cali but if you go back often then no problem.

Leave your reg and insurance address listed in WA. Too much of a hassle to reg it in cali. One of the perks of being in the military...i can run my FL plates and cant touch my car.
