Car wont start, fuse, starter gone out? hmm

Installed a SAFC2 yesterday on my ka24e, didn't hook up the airflow signal wire yet. But anyways, everything worked great yesterday, go to start the car today and it wont turn over. Figured ****, must be the starter, tap the starter - nothing. It will push start fine and drive around fine. So did the starter totally crap out with no warning or what? Is there a fuse for the starter, anything I could check?

They all look good, All I hear when I turn the key is a relay clicking. Nothing from the starter at all. Ideas?

That happened to me once with my sohc, it turned out that the internal contacts of the ignition relay had gotten dirty over the years until one day it just stopped working. The relay was still clicking, but there was too much dirt on the contacts for electricity to flow. Try popping it open and cleaning the contacts or replacing the relay.

Relay click, usuallly means that you're starter soilenoid is going bad. Alls you need are two lil "L" shapped copper terminals to rebuild it yourself. But as for the "round" piece with a pole, you can clean it a bit with a file if it isn't too thin.

Im going to take the starter off tomorrow, As for the ignition relay, where is that located? Any info on cleaning it like you said? thanks

Checked the big 75A fuse and it was good, tested it with a multimeter. Wierd thing- I went to try to start it tonight when it was freezing cold and it started, seemed to struggle to start though. I let it run for a few mins then remembered I didn't have the 75A alt fuse in, so I turned off the car and put it back in. Started the car again (sounded like it was struggling to start). Shut it off then tried once more and I was back to square one where I just hear a relay clicking or something.

Cliff notes. Car started twice when it was cold then wouldnt start again.

It's called the interlock relay in the FSM. It's a blue relay with two plugs going into it between the battery and the passenger fender. Just pop it open (probably have to pry it open with a screwdriver) and clean the interior contacts with some sandpaper, wire brush, or whatever.

clicking sound is also done when starter cant draw enough current from the battery to turn over... check your battery cables again... disconnect them completely; clean them with a steelbrush or something then hook them back up

Battery and cables are good like I said, new ground and batt as of last week and the pos cable is good. I can drive around/listen to radio/have lights on all day with no prob. I couldnt see a way of getting that relay open and cleaning it out. I'll check again tomm. Took the starter out- going to go have it tested or something I guess.

Got the starter tested, I guess its totally dead. Gonna go hit up the pick n' pull - hope they have one, if not, got a starter I can nab off of you for some $$?
