my sr has been having a strange backfiring problem for about a week now. when im driving down the road and i give it just a little bit of gas, it starts backfiring nonstop really quickly like a machine gun, but as soon as i give it more gas it stops backfiring. This happens at any speed and over about 3000 rpm's. Also, when it idles in my driveway, there is a little bit of white smoke coming from the exhaust and it sprays out a black liquid that stains my driveway. I have a 3" n1 dual and no cat, but its been running fine for months. Has anybody had a similar problem or knows what common causes could be?. Thanks

Id also check timing. It sounds like a leaky (stuck open) injector though.

What kind of BOV do you have?

It you have an open atmosphere bov, when it vents it'll cause you to run rich and you'll blow up the excess gas in your exhaust, basically. especially w/o a cat, used to happen to me badly, still happens but not as loud
