Strange vibrations - Driveline?!

The car is a 1991 240SX Coupe.

During first gear and second gear either going straight or making a turn, the stickshift vibrates heavily, not vibrations, but more like jolting. Seems like it's coming from the rear of my car, but not sure. Could it be the stock differential went bad? It's only during 1st and 2nd, and at lower speeds....kinda pans out once higher RPM's or speeds are acheived?

I thought it could of been a bad motor/tranny mount but I don't think so cause it would be constant.

any thoughts?

Your drive shaft might be out of balance, mine is. Slight vibration, esp through the shifter. I didnt even think about the drive shaft till I was getting an alignment and the guy basicly said 'somethings fucked back there'. We put it on a lift and left it in drive. you could see the drive shaft wobble around very noticably. He said thats why there seems to be a lot of gear oil coming out of my transmission.

Or it might be something else, who knows.

That's what I was thinking, I was thinking it was the drive shaft.

The wobbles are coming from the shifter at low speeds, it was super noticeable during 1st and 2nd, but after higher speeds you could still feel it, but not as excessive.

I'm stumped! Let me know if anything else.... :confused:

Check your tranny mount if its worn out or really loose it'll do the same thing, mine did!!

Im gonna get my car on jackstands and check the driveshaft and the tranny mount tonight.

Any other thoughts while I'm underneath that badboy? Could it be the rear Diff is jacked up?
