Lots of people running though most dems right now.

This is the thread for all that discussion.

That being said looking at what we have now I would pick Weld even though he has no shot in hell.

Lol you literally made this thread after that comment

Idk. A few months ago I figured Sanders or Kamala Harris for the nominee. But there is so little change of Sanders getting the nod. The candidates are running so far left. But that's generally the nature for the primaries.

Andrew Yang and Tulsi Gabbard on JRE was cool

I feel like Bernie's time has come and gone. He's too old and has gotten more extreme in his views.

Kamala Harris I feel will be going into the primaries with some good momentum given her background.

I'm very interested to see how far Andrew Yang goes running on the UBI platform. It'll be fun to see how some conservatives view his policies.

I would love to see someone like Pete Buttigieg do well in the primaries.

It's funny how Beto has completely fallen off the map. I think Harris definitely scores some intersectionality points but she put a lot of people away as the DA in CA. I find myself liking some UBI ideas but who knows, that may just be my naïveté.
And omg I just remembered de Blasio put his name in the ring :Olawd:

Kamala does not have the immigration policy down a of yet.

Pete showed really well on Fox surprisingly. Even got a standing ovation from the audience.

Bernie too old
Joe too old/baggage
Kamala has no real foreign policy or immigration ideas
Beto is lurking
And the remaining field of candidates are just hoping on the train to be there.

The last thing the Left wants is to run another old white guy. The party has moved too far left and towards socialism and its all about identity politics. The polls are showing the Left is least interested in voting for a white male. A women, a women of color, a man of color or a gay male all rank higher.

With that said Biden seems like the likely getting the nod at this point. The far left is going to reject him.

But it's early.

Sanders is done. He is imo to old. I was a Bernie Bro back in the primaries as he seemed the most reasonable. But now with his talks of free everything and guaranteed jobs. I just cannot support him. He moved left to keep up with the dems. Harris and Booker both are a no for me. I have not gone through all the Dems yet but so far I have not found anyone I liked yet.

.

This is what I do not like about the current left. I am a moderate by nature. I see both conservative and liberal points. This push against the white male is something I cannot get behind. Politics should have nothing to do with race/gender/sexual orientation.

There seems to be solid evidence for a push behind the #notwhitemale. Look up all the folks who sponsored the recent spat of abortion bills....and then look up how many of them have a clue on a woman's reproductive cycle. That and we are the only first world country who has NOT had a female in the white house.

I agree Future. However, the recent spat of bills is just one of many examples why I see a push to not have a white male

With that said, I really do like Pete. Young, charismatic, seems to have his footing and overall a well rounded human. Its nice to see someone so fluent in several languages, however still respects our Amendment rights. The two CAN exist with compromise vs what we have now on "My way or the higway!"

However, considering the bible thumpers, I cannot image the cog dissonance of most of the folks who are extreme 2nd Amendment right and anti-abortion followers to vote for a military vet, who is gay, who speaks several languages and still respects the 2nd amendment..........and oh snap, AND is a white male. I do agree with his stance; Fox News audience never had access to someone from the middle/left, so him appearing on Fox was a solid in my book.

That and he lacks the political baggage of just about every single Dem candidate.

My issue with the push against white males is the fact it is simply because they are white males. It is no different to me than people rallying for a woman simply because she is a woman. IMO both are equally as bad as it should be about policy and qualifications. I realize though not a lot of people feel that way. I know a lot of people who voted for Obama because he was black first and policy second.

I believe we push against bad policy vs look at the group identity of who is making the bad policy. Abortion is never going to be a solved issue. It will volley back and forth between the left and the right. Same with the 2a.

This article sums up my exactly feelings on Pete.

Not all of them are.

https://arrow-journal.org/why-people-of-color-need-spaces-without-white-people/

Some of the left support black only college housing. By definition that would be racist to exclude people from housing based on the color of their skin. It is literally what MLK stood against.

Some on the left try to say it is ok by victimizing us with the "poor black people" stint saying we need a safe space away from white people.

They can call it what they want but it is still racist. But double standards yo.

Because when white people tried the same thing it became a controversy

But the anti cis-gendered vanilla face males was started way before the recent pro-life moves in state legislations.

And we're the only country WITH a white house! ha

Maybe. But the RNC before Trump was elected had an openly gay speaker and he received a standing ovation. Much of America simply doesn't care about sexual orientation anymore, despite partisan propaganda on the issue.

My issue with the push against white males is the fact it is simply because they are white males. It is no different to me than people rallying for a woman simply because she is a woman.

It's the Oppression Olympics! Even universities last week stated they are going to create Adversity Scores to take into account an applicant's environment when applying to uni. Academia and Democrats are galloping to the left with the AOCs and Ilhan Omars of the world, and it is going to be a total shock to them when Trumpito is re-elected.

It's been almost three years since Trump got in and a huge percentage of America has still not accepted it. And they complained about the chance that HE would not accept the election results. The political leftists are on the fringe with a loud minority. Even all the polling of dems shows Biden ahead by double digits. It's going to be a long period of Republican presidents unless a popular centrist can blossom among the left.

Americans are also tired of deplatforming any human being with which the left disagrees. It's not even shady anymore; it's extremely transparent.

What everybody said, the left is completely unhinged and has become waaaay too radical. Seems like they're competing to see which candidate proposes the most radical policies, things that no even lord obama would have approved (at least back in his time), and all just to earn a group of voters that have completely gone insane due to their TDS.
That, plus the dems not doing a damn thing for the past 3 years except look for ways to get the potus out, I think is really gonna help good old trumpy.

Meanwhile, we got all these libs running away from their leftist "paradises", maintaining the same voting habits in their new refuges, spreading their blue cancer throughout the country... I really can't understand these people.

I dont know who will get the dem nomination, but I can tell you it wont be sanders or biden. While sander's policies are way out there with the rest of the cadidates, they are both old white males, which at the moment is one of the biggest redflags among dems, their enemy.

For me, the choice is very clear... remember, this is a car forum after all.

I find it funny how some think the Dems are getting too radical. They are still the same capitalists that they always were. It's obvious they are trying to be more palpable to people further left, as they always have, but I can assure you they are still going to fight the same battles Obama did. Appeasing billionaires, drone striking the middle east, etc. all while keeping up a façade of a down-to-earth dude in the White House.

This is not the revolution we are looking for, comrades.

The push towards socialism is new. Bernie was the first one to get the hype going and AOC and the rest of the Democratic Party are running with the ball. These were views that even during the Obama years were laughed at. They now “seem mainstream”. I put that in quotes because it’s not. The media is just an echo chamber and the Left can’t see outside their bubble to see the majority of Americans ject these ideas.

My politic opinions aside I think Trump will be re-elected. And I have no friggin clue who will end up running against him. Prob Biden because he's the most familiar household name, seems to be the motif behind elections as of late. The touchy-feely fiasco seems to be blowing over a little bit. If anything some left wing twitter trolls will start reposting creepy pics of Trump and his kids. Or creepy quotes.

As much as the right blames the media for shafting them, the left has been getting boned too. I think the average dem is a lot more moderate than what the right is being led to believe by "viral" news, which I could be wrong about but that's my opinion at least. Both sides seem to have their mascots for egregious behavior, the more sensible politicians don't get as much of a spotlight.

You should probably do some more research and re-watch the statement. Mueller stated that the Office of Legal Counsel which is under the Department of Justice in which the Special Counsel is beheld to, is bound by a ruling that states that no sitting president can be charged with a crime.

With that ruling set as precedence, Mueller could not at this time charge the president with obstruction of justice and specifically mentioned that the investigation did not exonerate Trump in respect to obstruction of justice.

Wtf does "cool" matter?
In the real world you want effectiveness, regardless of diversity. You want someone to get a job done, you hire the person most capable, regardless of their creed or sexual preference.
Note: reminding everyone of your personal preferences and pushing your own agenda on the bosses clock is not productive..

PS
The color of your skin is meaningless while expressing yourself. Stop being racist.

What do you think is the point of saying there is not evidence that a crime was not committed? There is a reason not to cite evidence of a crime when there is no opportunity to defend one's self in court. Which will not happen because he is not charging Trumpito with anything.

Racist comment aside, it's true that the media reports on the extreme ends of the political spectrum. That's where they have learned live the views/clicks. That's why it's helpful to have candidates on alternative media platforms like JRE and Dave Rubin, Ben Shapiro's Sunday Show, etc. on YT where ideas can be debated/discussed for over 60 mins.

Hmmm this race is cray! I feel like the Dems' best chance to beat Trump is to nominate Biden. But the other candidates and the media are attacking him lol. Probably because he's the front runner and also because of his low qualifying status in the oppression olympics. And that was strange with him changing opinions so quickly on the Hyde Amendment. The media is run by politicians. It's what creates mass hysteria or the opposite. They can manipulate the people stupid enough to not have their own opinion any way they want - unless you're one of those dumbasses that tune in to see what the newest leaked sex tape is or who lost a toe scuba diving in the Bahamas after they parked their three million dollar yacht too close to the barrier reef.

I like to take in opinions of all parties and make an educated decision on who would be a good fit at that particular time as well as track record, credentials, truth to word, and a few other factors. I tend to swing Republican mainly because I enjoy my constitutional rights and I don't think a person sleeping in a fancy house should be able to take them away from me.

If you want an abortion, cool. If you want to own an underground bunker filled with legally registered guns, cool. If you want to openly talk shit about Oprah Winfrey, cool. I'm down with it as long it's legal and follows your rights to the T.

It's utterly laughable. California needs to hurry up and secede lol. Go join Europe. That is why it's so important to have an electoral college otherwise the entire country would be run by the biggest cities in a few states, leaving everyone else with different values out to dry.

At first, for whatever reason, I would find myself agreeing that UBI is not the answer. But when I challenge myself to say why, I find that I am not able to.

It seems like the cleanest way to avoid extreme poverty and reduce reliance on public assistance all in one go. Yang likens it to a dividend check based on being a stakeholder in the United States. He will make it one or the other, either food stamps and related programs, OR the $1,000/month check. Those that would choose the money (and therefore be able to spend it however they like) will immediately leave the other programs freeing up money for the UBI itself. And all that extra spending money may be reintroduced into the economy when people begin spending it.

The vast majority of people would be buying cigarettes, beer and 7/11 hot dogs. I don't think the money would be funneling back into the economy in an optimal way as it would just end up in the hands of a few large corporations. And the marginal positive impact it would do for the economy would be negated by the incredibly high cost.

The democrats all seem to think that there's an endless supply of money that can be pulled for free healthcare, free college, UBI, $15+/hr minimum wage, etc. Now Bernie is at least admitting that his programs will be funded by taxes. If any of these people are end up in the white house you can expect your effective salary to drop significantly as a result of higher taxes and an overall higher cost of living.

Perfect example of the Lefts bs virtue signaling. They claim they care about immigrants and proclaim their cities sanctuary’s, but when Trump calls their bluff they say he’s being insensitive and being asshole.

It’s like AOC’s GND. She and the climate folks (for the record I believe in climate change but that’s whole other conversation) claim if we don’t do something drastic immediately we’re doomed. So the republicans let them vote on it and she cries fowl. So what is it? Do we need to do something drastic right this min or no? The Democrats has the chance and they passed. People who show up/get dropped off at hospital emergency rooms, people who go bankrupt after unexpected hospital stays/slowly over prescription drug cost; people with insurance pay for those people anyway (and justify the fudge factor that allows the hospitals/drug companies to charge hundreds for meds that would otherwise cost 10s pad the profits of Galaxo/Merrick/Bristol Meyers, etc).

It's utterly laughable. California needs to hurry up and secede lol. Go join Europe. That is why it's so important to have an electoral college otherwise the entire country would be run by the biggest cities in a few states, leaving everyone else with different values out to dry.

I would love to see the migrants delivered to sanctuary cities though. That was a brilliant and hilarious threat https://www.8thcivic.com/forums/images/smilies/awesome/cheerleader1.gif https://www.8thcivic.com/forums/images/smilies/pinkrotfl.gif

We would have to negotiate a trade agreement (ala the unratified USMCA) with a country that previously would have been the largest single economy in the country and provides a huge amount of Americas produce. California is increasing their alternative energy use, they would happily make a stable trade deal with the Pacific Rim and leave US (us) in the loosing position.

You guys ready for Cali made adult entertainment/wine/alcohol (Anchor Steam Beer) embargo for the remaining US states (see Smokey & The Bandit).

The whole of politics as it is now is solely about getting re-elected. The minute a member of Congress is elected, they immediately begin working on re-election. Resources are flooded to incumbents and that becomes the primary focus. Term limits for these individuals is SUCH a no-brainer. I want that to happen so bad! Challenge them to introduce a bill to limit their own terms and that should shed a real light on the issue.

I’m 15 min from downtown. People were staying that far away (and further) for Erin Hills.

Also the main issue with having the event in Milwaukee is it had the least amount of hotels of all the cities considered.

My house would sleep 12 people, so it would be more ideal for a company like CNN or some shit.

This article mentions the POTUS having more support but does not mention poc or women. It does not mention any race or gender. I am not certain how you attribute the article data to mean poc or women.

If anything the article simply breaks down into people who liked Trump vs people did not but now do. It suggest it could be republicans, former democrats or independents.

But it is not 2016 anymore. Millions of Americans who did not like the president in 2016 now say they do. Over all, his personal favorability rating has increased by about 10 percentage points among registered voters since Election Day 2016, to 44 percent from 34 percent, according to Upshot estimates.
Some of these voters probably voted for Mr. Trump in 2016, even though they didn’t like him at the time. But some probably did not vote for him: Republicans with an unfavorable opinion of Mr. Trump were more than twice as likely to stay home on Election Day as those with a favorable view, according to New York Times/Siena surveys of North Carolina, Florida and Pennsylvania in 2016.
It seems likely that a substantial number of these voters now have a favorable view of the president: Over all, 28 percent of Republican-leaning voters with an unfavorable view of Mr. Trump in 2016 had a favorable view of him by 2018, according to data from the Voter Study Group. The aggregate national data suggests that Mr. Trump has gained more support than that — if not from Republicans then perhaps from some number of independents or former Democrats.

Yes, but it doesn’t say amount white supporters either. So one could infer that this would include POC.

The reason I bring this report up is because I’ve said in this thread there are some strong movements among POC supporting Trump that i follow on the Gram. It’s dismissed as “oh there’s this inebriate black guy you follow”, when indeed it’s not. It’s MANY and the movement is real. The left wants to deny it, but it looks like even they are starting to come to terms with it. Well not really because the response online has been historical.

The Constitution is outdated and new s to be amended to reflect the 21 Century

That is part of what Exit is arguing.

The CURRENT constitutional law says one thing. This state governor is trying to bypass the constitution which is wrong.

Exit is arguing if politicians want something changed they should go about it the proper way and get the constitution updated.

Like he said there is a process for that.

I don’t know if you read the article but even the previous governor said it was a bad idea.

To the Members of the California State Senate:

I am returning Senate Bill 149 without my signature.

This bill requires any candidate for president to disclose five years of his or her income tax returns before their name can be placed on California's primary election ballot.

Although tax returns are by law confidential, many presidential candidates have voluntarily released them. This bill is a response to President Trump's refusal to release his returns during the last election.

While I recognize the political attractiveness-even the merits-of getting
President Trump's tax returns, I worry about the political perils of individual states seeking to regulate presidential elections in this manner. First, it may not be constitutional. Second, it sets a "slippery slope" precedent. Today we require tax returns, but what would be next? Five years of health records? A certified birth certificate? High school report cards? And will these requirements vary depending on which political party is in power?

A qualified candidate's ability to appear on the ballot is fundamental to our democratic system. For that reason, I hesitate to start down a road that well might lead to an ever escalating set of differing state requirements for presidential candidates.

True. But it simple, he could save California millions of dollars and just release the returns. Conservative leaning people believe on being tough on crime because criminal exploit the soft targets and soft/laws and systems that allow recidivism; what is not releasing returns/preparing before inauguration/vacationing @ personal property for profit but attacking/disregarding established norms. The election process didn’t reflect the will of the voting people and while the president won in a technically correct way, his organization cut through centuries of what we have worked to as an established way to beecome president, not codified into law. I don’t think we could get enough political support anywhere to make laws of what we have asked previous presidents to do but we can’t control that process now, which again in the future could go against the will of the people as it did here for the majority of voting Americans.

This post reminded why I don’t label as either camp.

My intial thought is California could have saved themselves a lot of time and money by not passing useless legislation.

Unless they are truly stupid they know full well it will be ruled unconstitutional.

IMO it is political theater at its finest. The senate and governor can now say how they tried but they got over turned by the potus’s Supreme Court (as we all know it will).

Their constituents eat it up and vote accordingly.

These days the tough on crime shtick seems be another voter trick. People like the idea despite not knowing what it really means. The phrasing sounds good.

I think a classical conservative, or a libertarian depending om how one looks at it, should be softer on some crimes.

Mandatory sentencing
Three strike rules
Draconian drug sentencing

are a few “tough” things republicans and Democrats alike should rethink.

Prison reform is needed ins major way but it’s a hard sell to a lot of America.

No, California can save themselves millions by stopping what amounts to kabuki theater.

And also, Joe Biden (calling criminals “predators”) has been a STRONG advocate of being tough on crime. Hell so was Clinton and Obama.

Living in an echo chamber is a greeeeeeat idea.

This is the problem with the Left in general. They/you don’t agree with someone and you want to shut them down and remove them from your life. It’s pretty fucked up. Probably half of my friends are Lefties. Probably 98% of the people I work with are far left. While I don’t agree with them on everything (some things I do) I wouldn’t shut them out of my life because they have a different view.

There's a difference between cutting someone out over disagreeing with their views (which yeah, is dumb) versus cutting them out for their hatred, whether that comes in the form of sexism, racism, xenophobia, etc.

With all that Trump & co have done I'm not sure how anyone can call themselves a decent person and still support him.

With all that he’s there are plenty of reasons. I don’t agree with everything he’s done, or any politics or that matter, but he’s done enough things that I see have been absolute wins for us that I’m willing to overlook some of the flaws.

I get overlooking flaws. I overlooked quite a few things I didn't like in voting for Barack in 2012 & Hillary in 2016.

But the stuff you're overlooking with Trump man....

The send her back chant
The threatening of journalists/lack of transparency
Cuts to the EPA & protections for endangered species
Climate change denial
Damaged ties with what were formerly our closest allies & growing closer with dictators
People dying in ICE custody (Yes, Obama deported/detained people, no, no one died in it under his watch)
The attacks on immigrants & poor people
The general weakening of our governmental institutions

For what?

Some tax cuts for the mega rich?

Again this is all pointless. I could compile a list of positives 3 times as long and you’d dismiss everything. Not wasting my time on this.

Do it.

Give me a list three times as long.

Seriously.

I don't want to understand how the mind of a Trump voter works, but I want to know 24 things they think he's done that are good.

Well shit that was easier than I thought:

Almost 4 million jobs created since election.

More Americans are now employed than ever recorded before in our history.

We have created more than 400,000 manufacturing jobs since my election
.
Manufacturing jobs growing at the fastest rate in more than THREE DECADES.

Economic growth last quarter hit 4.2 percent.

New unemployment claims recently hit a 49-year low.

Median household income has hit highest level ever recorded.

African-American unemployment has recently achieved the lowest rate ever recorded.

Asian-American unemployment recently achieved the lowest rate ever recorded
.
Women’s unemployment recently reached the lowest rate in 65 years.

Signed the biggest package of tax cuts and reforms in history. After tax cuts, over $300 billion poured back in to the U.S. in the first quarter alone.

As a result of our tax bill, small businesses will have the lowest top marginal tax rate in more than 80 years.

Helped win U.S. bid for the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

Helped win U.S.-Mexico-Canada’s united bid for 2026 World Cup.

Opened ANWR and approved Keystone XL and Dakota Access Pipelines.

Record number of regulations eliminated.

Enacted regulatory relief for community banks and credit unions.

Obamacare individual mandate penalty GONE.

My Administration is providing more affordable healthcare options for Americans through association health plans and short-term duration plans.

Last month, the FDA approved more affordable generic drugs than ever before in history. And thanks to our efforts, many drug companies are freezing or reversing planned price increases.

Signed Right-To-Try legislation.

Secured $6 billion in NEW funding to fight the opioid epidemic.

We have reduced high-dose opioid prescriptions by 16 percent during my first year in office.

Signed VA Choice Act and VA Accountability Act, expanded VA telehealth services, walk-in-clinics, and same-day urgent primary and mental health care.

Increased our coal exports by 60 percent; U.S. oil production recently reached all-time high.

United States is a net natural gas exporter for the first time since 1957.

Withdrew the United States from the job-killing Paris Climate Accord.

Cancelled the illegal, anti-coal, so-called Clean Power Plan.

Secured record $700 billion in military funding; $716 billion next year.

NATO allies are spending $69 billion more on defense since 2016.

Process has begun to make the Space Force the 6th branch of the Armed Forces.

Confirmed more circuit court judges than any other new administration.

Confirmed Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch and nominated Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

Withdrew from the horrible, one-sided Iran Deal.

Moved U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem.

Protecting Americans from terrorists with the Travel Ban, upheld by Supreme Court.

Issued Executive Order to keep open Guantanamo Bay.
Concluded a historic U.S.-Mexico Trade Deal to replace NAFTA. And negotiations with Canada are underway as we speak.

Reached a breakthrough agreement with the E.U. to increase U.S. exports.

Imposed tariffs on foreign steel and aluminum to protect our national security.

Imposed tariffs on China in response to China’s forced technology transfer, intellectual property theft, and their chronically abusive trade practices.

Net exports are on track to increase by $59 billion this year.
Improved vetting and screening for refugees, and switched focus to overseas resettlement.

We have begun BUILDING THE WALL. Republicans want STRONG BORDERS and NO CRIME. Democrats want OPEN BORDERS which equals MASSIVE CRIME.

Also, are you pro-inflated deficit?

Further also, "highest income ever" does that take into account the value of the dollar? Wages are stagnant and have been for decades, Trump has done nothing to change that.

Just like DHS was created in 2002.

This stuff literally didn't exist when all of us posting in this thread were sentient human beings.

Are you fucking retarded or are you just lacking any sense of integrity?

ICE was created as a result of 9/11 Terrorist attacks by combining US Immigration Enforcement and US Customs. Two totally independent agencies are now one to improve communication and efficientcy.

And yes, the US was and still is an open boarder wild west. How else did 30 million illegal aliens get here? How did a dozen men slip in and stay on expired Visas to kill 3,000 Americans if it wasn't a fucked up wild west?

God you are twat.

What Corbic said.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement was formed pursuant to the Homeland Security Act of 2002, following the events of September 11, 2001. With the establishment of the Department of Homeland Security, the functions and jurisdictions of several border and revenue enforcement agencies were combined and consolidated into U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Consequently, ICE is the largest investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security, and the second largest contributor to the nation's Joint Terrorism Task Force.

Since that act ICE is in charge of protecting the borders. I acknowledged there are issues with ICE. However, we will always need some type of border enforcement.

Even Sweden enacted border control

https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/sweden-turns-welcoming-and-restrictive-its-immigration-policy

With current potus it seems he is focusing on overall numbers vs deporting actual criminals.

I think this (and the media) is why everyone has a thing about trumps deportation policy.

I like the way Obama went about deportation.

https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/obama-record-deportations-deporter-chief-or-not

I get it that people who have lived here illegally for years are breaking the law however so is everyone that buys weed from any “legal” pot shop.

I think Trump should focus on recent border crossings and anyone with a criminal history.

If someone has been here years, has kids, no criminal record imo let’s pas them up for the person who is affiliating with MS13.

I also wish the potus and ICE would target the companies that hire illegals. Heavy fines and or jail time.

I disagree.

I think the media, DNC Elites and Left didn't care under Obama because they felt they had finally destroyed the GOP and the Right.

Bush narrowly made it in and Obama was a grand slam. All the polling and "experts" estimated Trump and the GOP had no chance. The DNC really thought a 100 year one party reign was in their grasp.

It didn't happen.

The number of moderate and right of center Americans shocked them. The unions, working class and white women betrayed the DNC and voted T$.

So here we are... Two years of shrieking about Russians, White Naizists and Mexicans in Cages.

Trump has supported expanding immigration for people with actual work skills, the problem is these would be from India and Asian.

Let's call a spade a spade. The DNC wants 3rd world immigrants who support socialism/communism because they want to inflate their voter base. They want Texas, Arizona, Florida, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana to turn forever blue.

This is why they are in hysterics over any attempt to stem the tied of South American immigration.

You’re missing the point. Trump won before with less than 10% of the black vote. If he is anywhere near 30% (because people are getting real woke) with the black vote come next year that will be yuuuge. A 5% increase would be significant.

A quick look at the numbers from the 2016 presidential election: In 2016, there were 231,556,622 voting-eligible citizens in the United States — out of that number, only 6.5 percent were Black. The number of eligible voters for 2020 will only rise by 100k compared to 2016. African Americans will only make up 6.7-6.8 % of all eligible voters. There are 47.4 million A.Americans in the U.S. 30 million are eligible to vote. In 2018 midterm African Americans voted 90% Democratic, leaving 10% for Republicans and Libertarian Candidates. A poll is only a segment of a populist and has a margin of error. If 2018 is a preview for 2020 there is no way in hell the President will get 10% of the African American vote.

It shows two things:

A. We have an increasing number of Black Americans that realize rich white liberals don't have their best interest in mind. Black's are just props for the #victim crowd and mindless votes for the elite.

B. The Economy. Blacks have had a record comeback from the last 12 years. The Obama Utopia did little to move the needle. Contrast that with the DNC promising free green cards and health care to illegal aliens - which does zilch to help struggling black communities or build upon black success.

I don't think the average black man gives a shit that T$ grabs them bitches by the pussy as long as he's getting salary increases and overtime letting him put food on the table. We'll leave that to the Vox Bloggers to rage about.

No one is hoping for a recession, acknowledging that one is imminent is different than hoping for one. .

Bill Maher literally is hoping for one.

This is him doubling down on it.

https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/maher-job-loss-and-recession-are-worth-it-if-it-means-trump-wont-get-re-elected

Maher reiterated his desire for a recession that would tank Trump's political prospects before the 2020 election. (https://www.foxnews.com/category/politics/2020-presidential-election) That prompted business columnist Josh Barro to remind Maher that "recessions are really bad" and that people lost their jobs as a result. "I know," Maher responded, "but it's worth it." His comments came as Democrats tried to attack the president amid stellar economic metrics.

Now that is some high class fuckery there. You hate the president so much you are ok with people losing jobs just to get him out of office? Get the fuck out of here with that.

I am no Trump fan but I would never WANT something bad to happen just so he can get out of office. Regardless of how I personally feel, he still is the president. He is leading the country I fucking live in. I wish only for him to have the great success.

Just pointing out it is honestly kind of hard to get a true apples to apples comparison. Also Obama got handed a down economy. It is possible the economy good behave like people losing weight. A fat person would lose more weight than a skinny person as they have more to lose. IE a bad economy (fat) could increase faster than an already good (skinny) economy.

Maher is centrist, he's much farther to the right than I. TBH, corbic probably would agree with him if he'd just call himself a republican. .

^^^^Devils advocate. Obama had 8 years to grow the economy. Trump has had 3. I am not going to argue the economy of who did better.

As a centrist he seems lefty to me. Not saying being a lefty is a bad thing. Just seems to be where he falls.https://www.amazon.com/New-Deal-Raw-Economic-Damaged/dp/1416592377

Good read. Strong post mortom of how FDR's "New Deal" basically made a depression into a "Great Depression" and prolonged it's recovery. He did it to maintain power and control over the DNC.

Much of Obamas administration can be critiqued in the same was. We wasted trillions on feel good spending that only hampered recovery. Hell, much of the 2008 Crisis could be blamed on bad policies enacted over the previous 20 years, which included Bill Clinton and several DNC controlled Senate's.

No one is blameless, but there is something to say about positive energy and optimism. Obama was a rerun of Jimmy Carter and his "better mileage" plan. "Americans need to learn to live with less, inflation is the new normal, we shouldn't expect to be #1 forever."

He got his teeth kicked in by the boombastic Movie star that was "Die you Commie Bastards, America, Fuck Yeah!!" and we saw an economic explosion that pretty much lasted till 2008...(with some corrections).

^^ President Obama gets demonized for the debt, but people forget the bullshit he had to fix! He inherited two wars, jobs at its a lowest level in 20 years, automotive industry going belly up, house market crashed, and all of that accumulated into one hell of a recession! Republicans refused to raise the debt ceiling and approve a budget multiple times! Obama's DEBT vs GDP started at 103.4-108T. His debt as whole started about 12.5 T and ended at 20 Trillion. President Trump inherited a damn good economy, with unemployment at very low levels. President Clinton left Bush a great economy. Bush left Obama a dumpster fire. Obama left Trump a great economy and job numbers. What will Trump leave for the next Commander and Chief?

The warning signs that one is coming soon are all here clear as day.

like the signs that trump was about to be impeached 1 year ago? Or like the signs that he was about to start a nuclear war with NK? How about the clear signs that he had colluded with russia and was surely to be found guilty?

Doesnt matter thou. Further economic growth will be accredited to bho by radical leftists, even though the whole 3% gdp and all.

And after no economic collapse happens, lefties will just repeat whatever the MSM tells them to next.

Funny how even though some of these members consider themselves so intelligent they always come in here or in the other thread repeating what's hot in the news...

Exactly, the "worse then racist" President is polling stronger then Bush, McCain or Romulon.

Average black man here, get bent.

Bush and Obama both acted with more tact.

The one thing I think the left and the right can agree on is the President should give more thought to the things he says. He is the leader of a country, not a reality TV star.

Everything you said is 100% correct. I sold my AR-10 on this platform 4 months ago or so, but I couldn't update my trader rating. My credit took a large hit due to my wife's cancer and not being able to work. I retire next year and I've started gathering my VA disability claim and working with a counselor. My rating will be at least 70%. This will cut my taxes in half and allow me to apply for land grants. Texas Veteran Land Board (VLB) will be my underwriter with an interest rate of 4.5-6.5. The hardest thing is finding land with a creek and good well water. I'm watching 3 properties which are 15 acres or more. They have no deed restriction and can double as a hunting lease for extra revenue!

If China deliberately slowed manufacturing and exports to the US that would send our economy into a free fall. The war on drugs was propaganda by the U.S. that incarcerated poor people and minorities for very low possession charges and crimes. Joe Biden help write the crime bill that lead to mass incarceration, that is why the Liberal side of the Democratic Party is kicking his teeth in! The CIA help spread crack through out the Nation to suppress the poor in urban areas and to fund the Iran war. The Iran–Contra affair, popularized in Iran as the McFarlane affair, also referred to as Irangate, Contragate, the Iran–Contra scandal, or simply Iran–Contra, was a political scandal in the United States that occurred during the second term of the Reagan Administration.

ITS CALLED THE STATUE OF LIMITATIONS! The CIA admitted to using seized assets from American citizens to fund wars. Most Police departments use the same tactics to seize your money or personnel items when they arrest an individual regardless if your guilty or innocent! The Supreme Court just ruled it unlawful, and the Court must decide what is seized from an American citizen.

I agree the war on drugs and the history behind it (although initially it had good intentions) is very bad. Unfortunately I haven’t heard of a valid alternative, such as legalization starting with marijuana and early education (D.A.R.E. was reeeeeeaaaal effective). Obama passed some grant bs in 2016 that provided funds locally to help treat addicts and overdoses. Hasn’t done shit.

Honestly if there was a real plan to combat addiction presented to Trump he would act. It’s not his job to come up with the solutions. But I genuinely believe if he was presented with one he’d pass it.

This is a very personal topic for me (please be respectful. I don’t speak of this casually) as my mother was a alcoholic and drug addict for the 3/4 of my life and ultimately lost her battle to her drug addiction. We talk about mental health in this country but it’s a real real problem. My mother was in and out of rehab most of my life and could never kick it. But it was her bi polar condition and the traumas of her child hood (which I prefer not to be specific about) that had her going back to the pipe time and time again.

My opinion on the drug war is we need to start with honesty.

Just look at the schedule.

LSD and weed are schedule 1 yet fucking METH and coke is Schedule 2.

I also believe we need to take a proactive approach instead of reactive.

We cannot legislate morality. The sooner politicians learn that the better. Instead of massive sentences for users, how about treatment programs. Users are low hanging fruit cops can use to up drug bust numbers. Lets target dealers not users.

Treat drugs like they deserve to be treated. Regulate and legalize weed and shrooms. LSD and Ecstasy should be schedule 3. Possessing not an offense but selling is. The cops could sell drug testing kits that will show if your shit is laced.

Meth, heroin, fentanyl, crack and cocaine all schedule 1. Users get treatment programs vs jail time. The programs could be paid for by the taxes from legalized weed and shrooms.

My personal belief is drugs are man made. Items that grow hear naturally were put here by God and have there purposes. People have used cannabis for centuries with no issue. It only became a "drug" when it was classified as one.

Look at the dutch and their coffee shops. It can work. No one wants something like the Chinese opium crisis, but we cannot pretend anymore the propaganda we were fed as kids is true.
Schedule I

Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Some examples of Schedule I drugs are:

heroin
lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD)
marijuana (cannabis)
3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy),
methaqualone
peyote
Schedule II drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with a high potential for abuse, with use potentially leading to severe psychological or physical dependence. These drugs are also considered dangerous. Some examples of Schedule II drugs are:

Combination products with less than 15 milligrams of hydrocodone per dosage unit (Vicodin)
cocaine
methamphetamine
methadone
hydromorphone (Dilaudid)
meperidine (Demerol)
oxycodone (OxyContin)
fentanyl
Dexedrine
Adderall
Ritalin

My problem is with the legalizing weed is it hasn't done all the the things the legalization proponents claimed it would do. For instance eliminating the black market. In fact the black market in the states that have legalized it weed has skyrocketed (black market is 70-80% of sales). So while the states are getting some additional taxes from sales, it's a fraction of what it should be and has actually lead to more illegal activity. Why pay uncle sam when you can sell the shit illegally and make more money like drug dealers always have.

In California, early projections anticipated annual cannabis tax receipts of more than $1 billion by 2018. But those predictions were far off, with $345 million actually collected last year

In another tactic aimed at illegal dispensaries, the Los Angeles Police Department has accompanied city officials on operations in which they shut off utilities at illegal stores. Nevertheless, about 55% of the stores reopen within a week

So here is an example of you give an inch and they take a mile. People STILL want to break the law even when they literally don't have to.

Yes it is true. Like the article I posted says. It is going to take a while for the legal system to catch up to the highly established black market. The same for the police force. The sales prove the demand is there. One just has to make the legal market match the demand. I went to Colorado the taxes made a 20-ish bottle of gummy’s over 40 bucks. If you know someone who makes edibles who can get you the same thing for 20 bucks you were clearly going to go to the person that is cheaper.

I am well aware that legal businesses have overhead that illegal businesses do not. However that is when both laws and the market will have to find a way to catch up to the illegal market. The enforcement will also have to change to drive out illegal shops versus individual users I am well aware that legal businesses have overhead that illegal businesses do not. However that is when both laws and the market will have to find a way to catch up to the illegal market. The enforcement will also have to change to drive out illegal shops versus individual users.

As More states have access the cross state illegal to will also become a non-issue as Morse states have access the cross state elite galaxy will also become a non-issue.

My issue with illegal proponents is they offer no other solution. The country was sold a lie about reefer madness. We have draconian drug laws based off of these lies we were told. It has directly affected a lot of the country. Yet they simply want to keep doing it the same all the way despite the fact It being illegal has done little to curb the demand. The only thing is done is fill the coffers of those profiting off of those who are in prison.

This is America. It’s supposed to be a country built off of freedom and personal choice without a nanny state to tell you what you can and can’t do to yourself. Same goes for the 2A.

I am personally against laws that attempt to legislate morality. Like in the south we have blue laws. If anyone is not familiar with a blue law it’s a law based on pseudo biblical principles such as not buying alcohol on Sunday or at all in the county. In my county we cannot buy alcohol on Sunday before 12 PM. To me that is asinine. There is no good reason why one should not be to purchase alcohol if they so chose to on Sunday morning. Some counties have even taken it so far wear bars cannot pour drinks after 2:30 AM on a Saturday.

Im totally realistic about shit. It’s going to be legal everywhere. I’m for it becoming legal. I just don’t think it’s going to have the positive impact that proponents promise. And virtually all studies into the impact of the states that have legalized it show exactly that I’m almost every facet.

And while Refer Madness was ludicrous, the real world effects are being shown to not be ludicrous, but real. This no doubt is compounded today because the strains now are more that 100% more potent. This ain’t the weed I was smoking in HS and I was smoking the good shit back then. Again I just go off of my real world experiences. One of THE smartest dudes I went to HS with (I probably wouldn’t have graduated at al if he didn’t let me copy his homework every day) used to deal and smoke. Ran into him about 8 years later applying for a job where I worked and dude was high af and noticeably less with it. My nephew right now just smokes weed all damn day and is totally useless.

The main difference I see between alcohol and weed is people that are frequent weed users are ok with being high all day. I drink damn near every day but not while I’m fucking working or doing the daily shit. I work with multiple people that will do edibles during the work day. And remember I live in one of the drunkest places on earth. Plenty of folks here to compare shit to.

But again, I’m realistic, it’s happening no matter what. Only time will tell really. I hope it’s positive in the end.

That’s my point. Saying the president has done one good thing since he’s been in office is dishonest. NPR may have accurate coverage but they still refuse to talk about the positives (and I’m pretty sure they were all over the Russian collusion hoax). They are part of the 92% negative reporting. And the fact that there is THAT high of a percentage actually proves Occam’s Razor theory. The most obvious explanation is the media is incredibly biased. Which is not surprising considering the overwhelming majority of the media identify as liberals. It’s confirmation bias. The media doesn’t want to believe there’s anything positive to report and therefore won’t report anything positive, thus proving to themselves (and you folks) there is nothing positive.

Young people who regularly use marijuana are "more likely to show a decline in IQ and school performance [and] are more apt to miss classes," Adams said. And frequent use of the drug can also impair a child's attention, memory and decision-making.

In addition, it can be habit-forming.

"Nearly 1 in 5 people who begin marijuana use during adolescence become addicted,"

^^ agree with you about the 35 and below crowd. Socialism is not a bad word, throughout this countries history it has partaken in socialism. Example are:

Great depression = food stamps, paid through Farm Bill

Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA), which was created by the Federal Emergency Relief Act in 1932

WIC passed 1972 = The first WIC site opened in Kentucky in January 1974 for poor rural farmers.

3 examples of Socialism that happen throughout our countries history. The crazy thing was minorities were excluded from applying for these benefits, and now are demonized for receiving aid in the modern era.

Future240

That's the thing though. We do have certain forms of socialism, lets call them traits.

Bernie and company seem to want to transform the country into a primary socialist one. They called billionaires immoral. To the right, a lot of moderates and even some of those on the left that seems idiotic.

The ceo of star bucks made a great point on this. He took a mom and pop coffee store to an international brand and is a billionaire because of it. It is literally the American dream yet some of the loudest voices on the left say he is immoral because of it.

Another thing is the identity politics. The dems seem to be turning into the party of keyboard sjw's.

“I want to be really clear that that’s exactly what we are going to do,” the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate said. “Americans who own AR-15s, AK-47s, will have to sell them to the government. We’re not going to allow them to stay on our streets, to show up in our communities, to be used against us in our synagogues, our churches, our mosques, our Walmarts, our public places.”
“All countries have video games. All countries struggle with mental health. All countries deal with hatred. But only America has more guns than human beings — 390 million firearms in a country of 329 million people — which kill nearly 40,000 people every year,” he wrote. “That’s why, as president, I would institute a mandatory buyback of every assault weapon in America.”

The first line says it all, not your fringe 3% militia or basement collection of AR's and AK's but a well regulated militia. If you want your guns so bad perhaps a mandatory law in respect to the 2nd amendment would be a good solution. Mandate service in a military branch in order to be allowed to own a military style firearm in order to provide the well established militia as defined in the 2nd amendment. If you can't hack it, you shouldn't have that type of gun, this would handle the mentally unstable wackos and ensure proper training and handling. Otherwise, allow for standard rifles with permits required to obtain them.

Woooooow. This is shocking to hear people say you should need to serve to own a firearm. That is not what the 2nd amendment says nor should it.

The right of the people. And SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

I value the first amendment and all peoples right to live without catching a bullet at any given moment. I live in the most densely populated area for school shootings and I refuse to send my kids to school with a bullet proof backpack because of inaction.

When was the last time that you stopped a crime, stood up to the tyrannical government that has always been out to get you? Newsflash, if the government was out to get you they are going to get you because they will always have better and more guns than you anyway. If your concerned about an invasion or foreign adversaries we have a military for that.

You know the stats on the likelihood of killing someone you love with your own gun vs taking out the “baddies”. A good guy with gun didn’t save anyone at Parkland or any of the other mass shootings, even when they was a good guy with a gun in a Texas Church shooting he didn’t prevent the deaths he stopped the shooter from racking up more.

I didn’t advocate for disarming, that’s false. No mass causality weapons without military service or apply/register for hunting rifles with limited capacity clips and legislate not eradicate including allowable ammunition quantities per person.

Makes sense. Kids should not be using substances like weed, alcohol or cigs. But can they take hormone blockers?

You all know the scary assault rifles yall want to ban are used in around 2% of murders right?

In 2017, handguns were involved in the majority (64%) of the 10,982 U.S. gun murders and non-negligent manslaughters for which data is available, according to the FBI (https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2017/crime-in-the-u.s.-2017/tables/expanded-homicide-data-table-11.xls). Rifles – the category that includes many guns that are sometimes referred to as “assault weapons” (https://www.businessinsider.com/terms-to-know-about-guns-when-discussing-mass-shootings-2019-8#assault-weapons-3)– were involved in 4%. Shotguns were involved in 2%. The remainder of gun homicides and non-negligent manslaughters (30%) involved firearms that were classified as “other guns or type not stated.”

INb4 "but future240 the article says the FBI stats don't capture all murders!!"

Correct however one can clearly see the trend. People using handguns kill more people than the other guns COMBINED.

Not to mention guns deaths are actually lower than they used to be
The gun murder and gun suicide rates in the U.S. are both lower today than in the mid-1970s. There were 4.6 gun murders per 100,000 people in 2017, far below the 7.2 per 100,000 people recorded in 1974. And the rate of gun suicides – 6.9 per 100,000 people in 2017 – remained below the 7.7 per 100,000 measured in 1977.

Feel good legislation at its finest. Just like when Trump banned bump stocks.

See it sounds good on paper then the argument falls apart once we look at data.

Yall are arguing disarming the population over 4% of guns deaths which is around 440 people. Out of those 440 we know for a fact some of those rifles used were not obtained legally.

If we increased the number to 700 and divided it by 300 Million (note: less than the population of the US) we get 0.00000233333 %

That is also assuming the people who would have killed people with rifles don't switch to handguns or shot guns.

Like i said FEEL GOOD LEGISLATION.

ps The total gun death rate is around the same as the car crash rate

B. Australia - Gun by backs drastically reduced the rate of violent gun deaths in a first world democratic nation with a stable government.

That's a lie. Homicide rates remained flat. I kill you with a knife and not a rifle now.

It would be impossible to round up all the guns in the US and prevent more from being illegally made and imported.

Have we stopped illegal importation of heroine, fentinal or cocain? It's also stupid easy to make guns. You'd create an overnight black market of barns, trailers and storage units converted into gun shops.

Awesome attitude, do nothing its too hard... you sound pretty defeated, bow out now before we tax your brain any further. Black markets for guns already exist, how many knife attacks resulted in mass casualties?

So you want to nix a constitutional right and threaten to plunge the country into a civil war over statistical outliers called "Mass Shootings". Great Idea.

More people are chocked to death then are killed by AR15s in the US each year. Sorry for the that doesn't sell ad revenue on CNN/MSBC.
