I was at kragen the other day, and I saw some diagnostic equipment and was thinking about purchasing a fairly cheap one, but i just have a couple questions. Do you guys think its worth purchasing one? I always get annoyed whenever my CEL comes on or even after i mess with my car. I know the method to check the intermittent flashes of the CEL but do you think it would be easier if i had one of these diagnostic tools? They are about a bill at the general autoparts stores. Please let me know.

That $100 could be used to make you go faster in some respect, either in a straight line or around corners. Or shift faster, if you don't already have a short shifter. Or rev faster, if you don't already have an underdrive pulley...

I don't mind the whole 2 minutes it takes to get to the ECU diagnostic screw once every 4 months when the CEL decided to light up...does it bother you that much to spend those god-awful minutes pulling the ECU and checking codes the old fashioned way?

If you had no other way to check codes, then I'd be all for it...but we have it so easy anyway...

If nobody you know has one, get one. They are worth every penny in the long run.
