Damn this thing is SICK! Out of curiosity, I was reading the write up on the dash part. The person mention he's running a single cam trans speedo sensor. Would this still work for an SR? I'm assuming the SR has nothing to do with the dash?

I have a single slammer and want this. cant remember if this is like the difference between dual cam and single cam clusters.. will it work? if so I want.

Yeah I guess what motor you have does matter to an extent. The cluster just needs sensor inputs to work, it doesn't care about the motor. But those inputs need to be the right value. So staying in the nissan family like the NX1600, single/dual cam KA, and SR work fine. Minus the speed sensor. The temp, fuel sending and everything else are fine. I doubt you could get it working easily with something else like a 2j or ls because i doubt the sensor value ranges are the same.
Anyway to answer your question yes I currently have an nx cluster install with a SR and it works fine. It also worked fine when I had a dual cam.
To be honest I never really looked into what speed sensor might be needed. I got lucky and my worked. But if someone was saying you need a single cam sensor that might make sense why mine always worked. My car is a 1990 that would have come with a single cam but I got it with a dual already swapped in. So maybe I've had a single cam sensor all a long. I don't remember if I switched the sensor when I did the sr swap tho.

update on the speed sensor
I've been looking into it and found a post by u/corby_baby

He figured out that the 91-92 cluster can use a sohc or a dohc speed sensor. It's the 93+ cluster that need a s14 speed sensor. The 93+ also need a s14 temp sensor and that's one way of telling what cluster you have.
This cluster doesn't read full hot. So I know it's a 91-92. Meaning you don't need a s14 speed sensor. Which makes since because I don't have a s14 sensor and the cluster worked fine when tested.
