You can probably find a BN sports hood easier than finding the koguchi hood. They have an almost identical style. I think the vent on the koguchi one is a little farther forward but I could be wrong. Contact importfan because they are the official importer for BN. If you decide you want the koguchi, you should contact jspec or another person that imports hard to find special japanese shit.

Unless you're running a V-mount setup, that hood is just bling.
I'm 99.5% sure that that hood is custom fabbed by/for Koguchi. (in otherwords, it's not mass-produced.)

Even if you don't run a v-mount setup, it will reduce underhood temperatures considerably, that is if it has the vents in the rear like the BN.

yeah, but it doesn't.. only the front (looky at the pics)
Sure, it'll still reduce temps, but there's not real need for THAT much cooling on a street car.

It looks like it has the vents. Look closely at the very back of the hood. See how it kinda bends upwards. If it's anything like the BN sports hood, there is a small thin vent that goes across the whole rear of the hood that let's hot air out. It's really freaking cool. I want a BN hood soooo badly.

Just so you guys know... ImportFan/ GTP is not the Official Importer for any Japan company. No companies in Japan will deal with them directly because they are known for making knockoffs. Grey Market owns them.
Back on Topic... The Koguchi Power Hood is a Custom hood by Koguchi Power... However, the Vent is the same as the URAS Erobon, and it can be molded to any hood... believe Koguchi has his Molded to a Carbon Fiber OE Hood.
Koguchi Power has other parts also.

Hmmm, I wonder why we use thermostats in water cooling and oil cooling systems. Those dumbass car manufacturers need to pull their heads out of the sand and listen to the facts from Makoto.

OK you guys are really going off the deep end on this!!
It looks cool, Its Light Weight, Easy to Install, and it has functional Cooling effects..... Whats the big deal??
Makoto is right by his own means and was only refering to the hood by means of cooling. If Makoto was talking about Engine parts for Cooling... then Yes, Thermostats and other means can be justified... hell, people shoot NOS for cooling effects.
Peace

ok... I'm still going to stand by my 'not mass-produced' idea.
But damn. $1k for a damn hood (before shipping, etc)
That's pricey.

$1160 is our Imported cost. :wiggle:
Japan made Carbon Hoods are not the same as US made Carbon Hoods.
Japan uses a Vacuum molding process to minmize resin content and Maximize strength, resuting in a very strong, very light weight hood.
Almost all US Carbon hoods have followed the VIS processing with a Fiberglass Core and Shell, and is done by wet layup with plenty of resin.

only problem with the koguchi hood that I see, is the price for FRP(not carbon). Otherwise I'd be all over it.

Yeah it would be awesome if it was in Carbon Fiber :coolugh:

$1160 isn't bad, I'll be able to order one in like 28 years ;) . How much are the headlights though?

Thanks for this thread, I love this hood, but I guess I'd be better off making one myself. I would love to see a dry carbon version, I'd definately shell out the dough for that. I think I'll be best off custom fabbing all my stuff, it's more fun and personal that way. :hsdance:

arent those headlights discontinue?
ThatGuy

They are still listed on Ab-Flug's website, so I can't say if they discontinued or not.
