I raced a 6spd Pontiac GTO(350hp) last night.

i got off at valley view in orange county the other night and pulled up next to a new black gto 6spd. we glanced at eachother knowing what was going to happen when the light turned green. i left a lil easy because i get crazy wheel spin in 1st when boost comes on. my wheels spun in 1st, i ripped 2nd and spun a lot as well.. he left me by 3-4 cars by 3rd. a couple of blocks later we pull up at another light.. i do a lil brake stand to try and get some traction somehow.. the light turns green and i get away in 1st good.. boost comes on and no wheel spin.. i can't believe how well it hooked up! he's about a half car back in 1st.. i rip 2nd and get just a lil chirp.. once again i hook up and i'm gone! at the end of 2nd he's about 2 cars back and the rest is history. he had a weird look on his face the next time i saw him. haha.. don't race on the street kids! :)

i have a 93 240sx hatch(red). with HE's and 16x8 +5front and 0rear work ewing modulars. and 205/50zr/16's. 14psi boost, exhaust, intake and that's it!

why would you do a burnout on street tires? especially if you had just been on the highway as i udnerstand it...your tires shoulda ahve been plenty "warm"

i dunno either... makes no point to preheat street tires unless they are nitto 555rs or BFGs or some other drag radial compound...

anyway... old GTO = ~100mph traps... wait until the new one comes out :) I believe the 05 model will have 400hp and the LS2 motor..

thats pretty good. street racing is a definate no no :nono: but i do get the urge sometimes when a car is next to me revving or just staring at my car. just yesterday i was running a little late to work so i took off making a left turn and it slid a little. car behind me all of a sudden pushes it to. we get to a red light and pay no attention to him. light turns green and he floors it. noticed an r32 badge in the back (volkswagen) and i was like, ooohhhh... never ran one of those before, so i drop the clutch and do the same. caught up to his side in the middle of 2nd gear. by the time i reach the top of 3rd i had to slow down to pull into work :ghey:.

Hmmm I would actually like to have one of thoes GTO's over here in Japan just for the hell of it. I like the car in general. reminds me of a Mark II Tourer V or a Chaser Tourer V. hmph just a thought.

Well there is a different view of it here in japan and well it is done on a regular basis and yes I participate. The opinions of others in the matter here is well over looked. I have been here for now a little over 10 years and well it is just a part of the day to day life. But an opinion is..exactly that and everyone is entitled to theirs.

i beat a GTP V6 super charged a while back...no contest. and i was on stock boost!!! i only needed to get to 2nd gear and it was over from there. i jus let off and shifted to 4th and proceeded to cruz

not necessarily... you have to worry about power to weight ratios...but thats not the subject here... anyhow, good race... i like the new GTO's a lot...

I dont generally race either but the other night I just had to, it was a z06 but im guessing he wasnt trying, on 9lbs, fmic,in,ex, he was about 5 cars on me in 4th, and im a VERY shitty driver.

This is great the ad above the quick reply is "Win a chance to get a Pontiac GTO!". HAHA. Anyway a GTO is basically an ls1 z28. I beat a couple z28s when I had my t25. Its pretty good what you can beat with the stock turbo.

My older brother has a '04 GTO. "MY GOAT" he calls it.

Its a nice car. I'm pretty impressed with it, honestly.

But, as soon as my KA-T comes together, we'll see. I plan on taking him to the local drag strip to have some fun. Its a nice car and all, but I plan on keeping it real close. :)

Seeing as how the GTO is an LS1 with the body and suspension from an Austrailian sports car called the Holden, which was designed by the Aussies to go fast in many directions;and the Camaro SS was designed to go really fast in a strait line and beat mustangs on the 1/4 mile track, their driving characteristics are nothing alike. Why do you think Rhys Millen drifts a new GTO and not a Camaro SS against Supras and Silivias?

Its a surprisingly fun car to drive. Overweight? Sure. at 3700lbs its no spring chicken. But, its a total sleeper: from the outside and as a driver.

Rhys Millen drives a GTO because GM pays his bills.

Rhys Millen doesn't drive an SS because GM doesn't make F bodies anymore.

Rhys Millen has also driven Skylines, Supras and whatever else. He is a RACECAR DRIVER and drives whatever people pay him to. If Renault paid his ass 9 million dollars he would be trying to drift some ugly French shit probably.

Holden Moneros are still gay. Who cares if a GTO is underestimated? This kid with an SR beat one and thats what is important.
