I just finished swaping a lower mileage KA and M/T last week. Everything is up and running perfect. Except when say at a stop light the motor doesnt drop back down into idle. instead it revs at about 1700 rpm for 5-10 secs then goes down to Idle.
My EGR is half disconnected but i totally removed it and put a resistor in the line today and it made no difference.
The motor i swaped was a M/T and im still using the A/T harness and ECU. So there are 2 plugs that are supposed to go the TPS, but the M/T only has one. Could this be the reason?
Any opinions or other thoughts?

well im not sure at all, but are you sure your throttle cable is working correctly, like its not sticking a bit. worth a shot, should take 30 seconds to check.

Checked throttle cable and cleaned the throttle body and it is still doing the same thing. Any other suggestions?

I have the same problem, and i cleaned the throttle body, cleaned aiv, cleaned iavc, and still no luck. But i do have a egr code and detonation code. from what i heard, if you block the egr tube on the exhuast side with a nickel or however you want, you can get ride of the problem.

Yeah ive got the exhaust mani welded shut. Im hesitant on deletingthe whole system though, Im gonna hook it back up once i get a header.
Anyway sometime this week or next ill put the old A/T tps sensor on and see if that clears this up. It is very annoying :axe:
Oh yeah thanks for reminding me, im gonna check for codes. No CEL as of now, but it doesnt hurt to look.

The problem is the AUTO ecu. Swap it with a manual. Have you been having cold start problems as well?

No cold start issues at all, but i will put the M/T ecu in then. See if that clears it up.

The M/T ecu has cleared everything up. Thank you stillmatic.
