do 300zx's have hicas? i was browsing ebaymotors for a 300zx and i found one that caught my attention, but under the description is lists "Super Hicas 4-Wheel Steer System". i had no idea that 300zx's were plagued with that awful system along with some of the 240's. which years and trim levels have it? is it just an option like on the 240's? fill me in.

Yes, all TTs from 90-96 come with Hicas.

It's supposedly a different system from the 240sx though. one is "Hicas" while the other (240) has "Super Hicas" Most user's who own cars with Super Hicas report a love/hate situation. They either Love it, or Hate it. Seems to be more people that like it on 240's than 300zx's though.

what were the exact difference's? no clue..

I'm not sure what to think of our 180's SuperHICAS. I don't feel it actuating often... but when I do, I'm not expecting it. I'm sure it's great for roadholding.

I am one of the rare people that love it. :)

so was it just an option on TT's or is it standard on all?

I dunno but you can buy cheap kits to eliminate it. It is only active from 30-70 mph or something anyway.

I loved it on mine before disabling it (it was disabled to remove power steering, remember I'm an ass dragger, not a drifter or autox or anything, so the more power I can salvage the better).

The Hicas system came standard on all TT Z32's, and it was not available at all for the NA Z32's. Also, I think Nissan switched it from a mechanical Hicas in 90-93 to the electronic Super Hicas in 94+.

well they were both mechanical. I think one was hydraulic and the other was electric.
