sr ignitor question

recently picked up a friends 240 with sr in it but it dont start. My question is does the ignitor need to be grounded to the chassis by a screw. I had a mr2 and the ignior had to be securely grounded to the chassis in order for it to start up.Thanks in advance.

um... from all the SR's ive seen, the ignitors are just hanging. lol.. so i safely assume that they dont have to... do you get fuel or spark?

got fuel, no spark. I am gonna try a friends ignitor tomorrow. Thanks.

check also your coils... if its not your ignitor check your ECU in your friends car... or vice versa

try new plugs, when I first got mine ready, it would not start at all, plugs looked alright, but when I put the ka plugs in, sparked right up, just a thought.

found out that the ignitor is no good. The bad part is that the ignitor was brand new(couple weeks old). I think something may be shorting it. Anyone got this problem before?
