forgive me if this is a dumb question, but can this ring & pinion be installed into a j30 diff?

yes it can. i had these gears installed in a S14 carrier and they're basically the same.

to install you'll need to get the matching M13 hardware for this ring and open up the holes in the differential to fit the M13 hardware.

The ring and pinion were from a Q45. I just scrapped them last week though.
