There are many things going against it on how they can ask as high as 15k for a set of wheels.

1. no race heritage or any kind of real accolades.

2. Wheels are heavy even tho it's supposed to be forged

3. wheels are also known to break and even now banned from some race groups

4. Wheel designs are are cookie cutter and plain(this of course is subjective.)

5. wheel brand not even perceived as prestigious even tho that's what they are aiming for

someone fill me in on this.

Now a days I feel alot of euro guys, exotics etc have even seen thru this and I now often see work wheels, rays, ssr etc on those cars now.

I agree 100%.

I've been told by others that they are expensive because of how HRE will build them to your exact specs regarding size and coloration. Taking into consideration all the negatives of HREs, I still don't think they should be sold for such a high price.

I've also heard that they have great customer service regarding rim failures, but I suppose they wouldn't be known for that if their rims would stay together in the first place :keke:

theyre expensive because look who they are catering to (the high end market). go click 'gallery' on their website and look at what type of cars pop up. /thread

Dude asked a question; I answered. Whats the problem? :-/ Even if I was rich, I would still be frugal. IMO, they simply aren't worth it.

Well, since it's already been bumped back...

1. manufacturing processes are more expensive
2. They offer more "premium" finishes that require more time and human interaction
3. Brand equity/marketing/target demographic

22lb for a 21" wheel isn't heavy, although i'm sure they have some very heavy models as well. I discussed a bunch of stuff that indirectly touches this subject in the old grumpy assholes thread. I could speak on this for hours but I don't have the time for that.
