i had a question about the Masao Suenaga coilovers compared to the XT's.

Is there a significant difference between the two besides one being a product used and tested in D1? The specs are the same correct as referring to the spring rates, and the material used to build both of them?

I was wondering what big a signifcant feeling you'd feel spending about 400 bucks and getting the D1 specs..

Or is it just a little bit more expensive because Mr. Suenaga used them and how D1 has blown up in the recent yrs that you can push them for a little bit more?

Im really interested because i want a set of Kei office.. And sorry for bringing back an old post..

Thanks in advance

They are actually different. The D1 Spec is a whole other animal in the suspension world. The spring rates are the same yet, due to different valves in the shock they are stiffer than the XT’s. They are also much more beefy than the XTs and have a larger diameter piston. While the XTs are one of the mass produced units the D1s have a limited production each year and sections of the coil are assembled by hand. Also, not all D1 Spec have the same spring rates as the XT for the same model and some are designed with odd set-ups in mind. The Masao Suenaga Model B is actually designed for an S13 with R32 front suspension and in the case of our car the suspension was designed for the stiffness and weight differences that are unique to our car. Hope this helps :)
