I just replaced my headgasket on my s14 sr20det, put in new arp head studs, timing is perfect (ive done about 15 times in the past year so i know what im doin there), When I start it up, it starts right away, but the idle won't hold, and it sounds very loud and puttery i guess would be the word...very lawnmower-ish. When I rev up, oild pressure shoots to about 70-80 at 6k rpm...iv'e checked for vacuum leaks, all plugs are plugged, grounds are grounded. Ideas? It ran better with a leaky headgasket
Thanks In Advance,
Ryan

Are you running on all four cylinders? Do a compression/leakdown test.

Does that show whether or not the block is cracked?

A compression leak down test would.

I did a compression test and I'm running 150 across the board.
I put a timing light on it, and even when the marks are right, it shows the timing off a bit. Still runs horribly. Ideas?

Can you explain to me what I should look for while performing my leakdown test? I've never done one - i have all the equipment now though.
Thanks, Ryan
