I've seen a few cars with there sus dropped and exhaust and what not thinking there going to win the indy 500 or something. I guess they think that when you get parts for you car you magically become a racecar driver or something. I see some dangerous stuff out here with some nondriving kids. I guess they don't understand the difference between driving fast and driving dangerously. Kids buy all these carparts to give them the feeling that they're driving a race car but they don't even know how a regular car feels like because of their inexperience. I know this doesn't apply to everyone but it does to alot of people. I think everyone should get somekinda class or something before being allowed to buy aftermarket parts not to make it harder for people to buy stuff but to educate them on what each part of the car does and gains and losses come with aftermarket parts. Plus I think its better for that person if they new what exactly there aftermarket sway bar do or roll center adapter does and etc. Thats like when people ask whether the sr or the ka is better, they would get a better understanding if they knew about engines because then they wouldn't ask which one was better, they would ask what are the differences between the engines and what are there advatages and disadvateges. Thats just an example. I'm starting to get pissed at seeing some of the cars out here and what they're doing to them. This isn't going out to people with show cars and stuff because they look good when done right and they know what they're doing. I'm talking about people with the KIA rio with a 3inch exhaust with obviously cut springs and gt wings with the crazy funky lights and rims bigger than the car......

That's why this board is here. We're helping people learn and understand. Why pay to take a class when you can learn it all for free? And some people aren't even aware that there are classes and whatnot that you can take to learn this stuff. We're here to help eachother and make fun of honda owners and ricers (just kidding about the honda comment.. for the most part at least) But yeah, i understand where you're coming from but that just wasn't a good example. People learn by asking stupid questions like that. Anyone else here like fried dumplings? I've gotta eat...

Blah, I live in Northern California, specifically around the bay area. Its been like that ever since I could remember. I agree with you on the class to learn how to drive. Hasn't the age limit been bumped up to 18 (For California Drivers?)

Also something to think about

Well case and point, they make 300+ HP porsches in AUTOMATIC. Now why the hell would i trust someone in a 300+ HP machine if they cant drive stick, which offers MORE control over the car? Blah. Steets are more dangerous with kids with rich parents.

Yeah I see what you're saying, but alot of the problem I think is that when people buy aftermarket parts for there cars some of these people selling the stuff don't even explain what the stuff does or even ask what the kind of application there getting the part for. I mean if they went that extra step with their customers I think it would be better for everyone in the long run. You know, they should advertise some these forums on that are running at automotive stores so people can learn from other's mistakes and stuff. I mean they got forums and sites for just about evey car out there.

As for HONDA OWNERS..there are some good Hondas ie Spoon Sports. But yeah..as for those Honda owners who put on front clips of Nissans on their Civics..yeah we pretty much think they suck.

lol you know what I think is funny? Ok I was in automotive tech with a couple of buddies of mine. Now during lunch we use to sit around and talk about cars (big surprise eh) Now a group of self proclaimed racers (ricers?) would ALWAYS sit around us and listen in. Next day, in the halls I would hear them talking about what ever the hell we were talking about yesterday. Yes, they buy stuff they dont even know what they are for, yes they drive like its fast and the furious, but that doesnt stop them from bein idiots.

No, the California driving age is still 16.

Actually, I am thinking of taking a class at Thunderhill Raceway for $100 that lets you drive your car on the track. I'm scared to though because I don't want to wreck and not be covered by insurance.

Let them drive like idiots, once they crash, they'll be less ricers/posers on the streets.

You know, with all this craze about F&F and drifting I don't see alot of corolla gts's running around. Anyway, has anybody had this happen, you're sitting there talking about cars with your buddies and some idiot comes up and jumps into the conversation and starts talking about something stupid like installing neon lights or a dildo looking shift knob or something.

GENERATION F&F or F&Fers.
