iirc, this is an OLLLLD recal relating to the timing chains on early 240s

There was also a seat belt recall that led to Nissan instituting a lifetime seatbelt warranty.

They did change some other 240SX parts during the 1989 model year... they lowered the compression of the engine, but changed some other details to maintain 140hp. The front strut bolts went from eccentric (for camber adjustment) to non-adjustable.

my hatch was one of the first off the boat, manufacture date was oct. 88 I belive, and it did not have eccentric camber bolts...

Did you buy it used?

If the struts were replaced before you bought it, they may have replaced them with the later non-adjustable bolts, especially if it was done by a dealer (I believe there was a TSB about the bolts).

mine had 160,000 miles on it and nissan struts, but they were completely blown... so its possible they were the 2nd set.
