Here is a list of various standalones available. TO my knowledge, the AEM is the only one that's plug and play.
AEM EMS
Haltech e6x/e6k/e11
Electromotive Tec2/Tec3
Wolf3D
SDS
Motec M series
Microtech LT8/LTx8
and the list goes on......

What is the reason for converting to a MAP from a MAF? I thought a MAF was more accurate?

Nope, Map is more accurate, and you dont have to worrie about maxing those out.

Nope, MAF is technically more accurate. That said, there is a hell of a lot more variability and possible problems with MAF based systems.
MAP systems are A LOT (!!!) easier to tune however. It just makes more sense to tune as Load vs. RPM as opposed to Airflow vs. RPM.

my main reason for wanting to convert to MAP is to eliminate alot of xtra piping associated with running KA-T, and to the fact that how many people are running MAP on KAs. Although if i cound run a blowby MAF setup then i would stay MAF, although im unsure how srtong the MAF piping is to be able to take the pressures that run thru the charge pipe.

The stock MAF works fine with a blow-through setup.
That said, convert to a speed density (MAP) setup. having a filter right on the turbo, running an open BOV, and having the car remain driveable even after losing an intercooler pipe rocks. not to mention tuning a speed density setup is light years easier than a MAF setup.
My vote is towards the AEM. I love mine.

Man you have no idea how indecisive I was on my motor. First Kat then Sr then Ca then rb25, then rb20, then Sr again. this sequence over and over. The day came, I was broke, but I need something, so with 1000$ in my pocket I went to pick up a 7m to put in my 240, but when I got there, the 7m looked like ass. So I was about to get the 13b when my boss insisted that I buy the Sr short block with 0 comp for $350. I did and $4000 later with things like a new gt25r (.86), and a crap load of other nice goodies and fully rebuilt motor. I looked at what I had invested. 4.3k+ and I still needed a igniter, ecu, and harness. One day I snapped out of the torment and decided to sell everything and go 26 if I was spending that kind of cash in the first place. I am sure a lot of people have the same indecisive behavior that I had.
