what's even better, is that a few more people made the same kind of mistake even after the teacher scolded the guy. haha

i already took every japanese class offered at my school, so learning chinese is like only half as hard as it would otherwise be. :)

what to do?

not sure why you put the 'o' particle since you are not referring to a direct object. and you don't need a question mark because ka is sort of like a question mark you would just put a circled period.

chinese is gay. iirc they only teach simplified chinese in colleges so that makes these classes even more gay.

what are you talking about? the chinese class i took taught traditional AND simplified. and dont say chinese is gay, your straight up being ignorant.

Andrew Bohan
11-03-2004, 10:49 AM
in beginning class at my school they teach only simplified, but i went and got the traditional edition of the workbook. and most of my chinese speaking friends are from taiwan so i get it from them too.
second year class teaches both traditional and simplified.
of course, knowing japanese already, i already know a bunch of traditional characters.

its pretty hard to learn a language if you dont use it everyday.

i am chinese. my mom is from xian moved to taiwan as a baby right after ww2. my dad is straight up native taiwanese born in kaoshiung. i speak mandarin fluently and my girlfriend is cantonese. i'd have to try pretty hard to be ignorant in general matters that are chinese.

91rusty240sx
11-04-2004, 05:44 PM
diew, just because your parents are taiwanese and your taiwanese, doesnt mean your not ignorant. wow, my parents are cantonese and i speak cantonese, does that mean i can say its gay? if you dont like chinese, thats fine, but dont talk shit about it just cause you know mandarin.

aznpoopy
11-04-2004, 05:53 PM
omg. you need to relax. it's pretty obvious that since i am chinese, i don't really consider anything and everything chinese to be 'gay'. wtf would that even mean? that im some anti chinese chinese person? jesus christ.

:duh:

edit: maybe i should spell it out for you; it was a joke and not to be taken seriously.

w0nderbr3ad
01-09-2005, 01:15 PM
when i took up chinese they didn't focus on simplified. Everything was in traditional form. So memorizing characters got confusing unless you knew the meaning of radicals, but then the teacher was saying it was like reading a story from the characters or something. Class was hard as hell. Easy to learn because you don't have to conjugate verbs but still a pain in the ass at times. But I didn't mind my group was 3 korean girls and me being the only guy :fawkd: So anyway, zaijian!!! haha
