Done a lot of searching, no answer to this question.

I've installed the S13 Silvia front on my '90 coupe, with triple projector headlights. Obviously the low and high beams plugged right in. I wired the fogs to the popup switch, but the fogs work under two conditions: when the switch is pushed, and when the headlights are on. Obviously this is because the old lights would flip up just by turning the switch on the stalk.

So, I'd like the fogs to be under total control of the popup switch, and not necessarily come on with the headlights (in other words I'd like to be able to have the headlights on without the fogs, but right now it's all or nothing). I'm guessing that there's a wire in the steering column that I can snip to make this happen, but I'd like to know if anyone here has done their lights the way I'd like to. Alternatively, I may have wired the fogs to the wrong wires in the plugs for the popup motors; the black is ground, but I wired them to the only other wire that got 12v when the switch was pushed.

Any help appreciated.

TIA

if you don't want your fogs, unplug them. if you want your fogs back, pulg them in again.

I tried this, and was unsuccessful. Without a different switch and/or lots of creative wiring, it was unpossible.

i use my switch for the high low control on my boost controler(sp)

the best way to wire fogs is to use a pre made harness with a standard automotive relay find a seperate switch

the up down switch is an push on switch you can run a new harness from the switch to the fogs use a multimeter to find the proper pins for the on and off i think i have the switch diagramed but i wont be able to post it for at least a day or two

mrmeph, fair enough, I thought it might be the case.

the head, please post as soon as you can to help out I am wesley and me.

Kingsol, I already figured that out, but I was hoping for a way to deactivate the fogs without pulling over and popping the hood.

A friend of mine sucessfully wired up the fog lights to his popup switch. TO be accurate, my other friend (who is like a electrical/wiring guru) did it for him. :P

So it can be done. What did he do? I've no idea. One day I'll take a peek and post it. ;p
