Why is Nissan wrong for this?
There is a reason we don't host copyrighted materials on our site, and this is high on the list of reasons.

Does Nissan even sell full service manuals for these old cars anymore? I understand there's copyright infringement, but it's weird if they don't offer a legal alternative.

So the pages are still up, the directory for Nissan and Infiniti, where you pick your vehicles is down. You can still click on previous links and you can also type in the webpages manually. Everything is still up just hidden. It seems like a pretty easy fix if they have actually been paying for it for 16 years.. has to be some sort of documentation

I think you guys are too generous in assuming people were actually consulting the FSM before posting questions on Zilvia, lol.

Missed this earlier, but wholly inaccurate.
The letter referenced by the OP was actually sent by some trolling attorney trying to drum up business on behalf of Nissan. NNA was not involved, and has a good relationship with NICOclub.
www.nissanservicemanual.com and www.infinitiservicemanual.com are up and functioning last I checked.
