alright first things first i want to mention i tried looking into this but didnt find a clear answer, so lets say i have the T fitting on the SR20 with one end going to vent the crankcase pressure (back side) and the other going to a catch can, my intake does not have a port for the hose to go back into it from the catch can. is it necessary that i get a hose to go to the intake to prevent vacuum leaks or can i have the side of the T fitting going to a catch can and have the other side vent.

You CAN vent it, sure.
I recommend you have your intake pipe modified so that you can run the other catch can hose to it POST MAFS. You will gain a vacuum source to the crank case when under boost, gain horsepower, AND an overall happier sr20.
If you don't want the car to be down for some reason, maybe look into ordering another intake piping that will allow that to be connected.
