Alright I have some questions.

1) Does anyone know what bodykit(s) would provide the most downforce and/or the best drag coefficent. I'm going to build one towards highway racing (uh oh) and I don't want anything stupid and useless that is not going to add any downforce, since I dont want my car comming off contact at high speeds. This leads to my next question:

2) I know Wangan and such isn't discussed here that often, and after searching there arn't really ANY useful threads. I was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on what i'm going to need to change up if I go with an S14. I know supposodly (sp) the transmission isnt long enough, so maybe a new gear set (any recomendations) is in call for. Or maybye I shoulden't use the SR at all and should opt for more towards the RB25DET. I really want people who know (IE have something) to respond because we can all give "oppinions." Thanks for the friendly advice guys!

Brad

its an incredibly weird thing to ask for since basically no one does anything like this....look at some of the jgtc cars and introduce yourself to 10 thousand dollar one of a kind body kits. what would probably be cheapest is finding somewhere that does custom work with fiberglass. your looking at an incredibly hard thing to do. get 18's, no spoiler, and try and get a lightly elongated less blunt front end. i'd possibly even look into smaller sideview mirrors if your really thinking about being insane. DONT KILL ANYONE!!! it sounds like what you want to do is kinda crazy and scary.

Well, let's talk AERODYNAMICS. Hooray.

Aerodynamic Add-Ons
a. Front Lips/Splitters
1. Splitters/lips force air to go up and over or around the car, not under.
2. Splitters force more cooling air into the ducts of the car.
3. Splitters look the dog's danglies.
b. Sideskirts
1. From what I've read, these don't do much. However, in conjunction
with a full under diffuser, sideskirts would help the aerodynamics.
c. Wings/Spoilers
1. Wings (those that are properly designed at least) are used to
increase downforce and prevent lift. Think about it. As the rear
of the car raises up, it allows the air underneath to slow down.
Don't think that's just like "OMG, I HAVE TO GET A WING NOW!"
You have to have an understanding of aerodynamics before you
should even bother with a wing... you might just be putting on dead
weight because the wing might be out of the airflow area. You have
to find out where the airflow stops and then put your wing above that
area. That's why some 993-chassis Porsche 911s had a wing above
the rear window... to force the air to slope down the rear and onto
the rear spoiler.
d. Diffusers/Ground Effects
1. These are the big daddy of all aerodynamic add-ons. If you do these
right, you'll see the biggest gains. However, they ARE the hardest to
get right. Essentially, their goal is to create a flatter underbody, thus
allowing the air to flow faster and reduce lift, maybe to the point of
negative lift, aka downforce. You want the open area between the
bumper and front wheels closed, along with the area at least between
the framerails and behind the rear wheels to the bottom of the rear
bumper. Do a quick search for "ground effects" on google and you
get the wrong things. People in search of proper aesthetics decided
to call their queer add-ons "ground effects" even though 99.5% of
them do nothing. This is a proper rear diffuser:

Here's a good front diffuser:

LOL, Thx for that informative post, but I knew that already. I wondered if anyone know of a kit (normal kid, ill look at reaer diffusers later lol) that produces mad downforce. I mean not those stupid kits that are put on for show, like mabye the bomex kit adds the most or reduces drag the most.. you know? Your right though I am buying diffusers! LOL
