RFL = Really F#ckin Loud = RICER NOISES.

It sounds annoying. High pitched and aggravating.

MAF equipped car + open atmosphere BOV = shit!

do some research and see why it doesn't matter which bov you put on. unless it's recirc'd it is gonna make your engine run like shit.

I am using the RFL on H&Ks S13. I like the sound of it. Its not the faggy SSQU squeek, its the HUGE RUSH OF AIR meaning its WORKING. It hasnt leaked or seized up yet so I am pretty happy. I dont like the mounting style of it (although it works fine) with the valve slipping over a tube with a groove in it for three set screws from the sides. Its actually a lot easier to mount then the SSQV. It CAN be adjusted by stacking washers on top of the spring. I have run them on MAF cars and was able to adjust it to get it to stay closed at idle. At $189 retail price versus $250 for the SSQV its a bargin. If you want to recirculate, its a much better valve to do that with. Instead of getting the RFL, get the regular type H ($179 retail) that has a straight outlet instead of the bull horn exit. The SSQV will need the recirculation kit (extra money) to work. You can hear the RFL at light throttle on H&Ks car at http://www.phatka-t.com/projectcars.htm in the fourth vid. Or if your really crazy (13.8m), DL the first and hear the RFL at a little higher throttle.

The SSQV recirc kit costs like $10, and the valve can be purchased used for less than $200...

In any case, its up to you to decide what to use.. either way, I would recirc it.

Best comment so far.

Buy a valve you can recirculate.

Prices went up I guess, now 189 retail.

Or for 169 retail get the Type H 25

^^^^^

so they (and you) don't mind the car dying when coming to a stop? Yea, you can blip the gas to keep it from doing it, but that's a stupid thing to have to do.

I use an open atmosphere bov, and oh wait my car doesnt die when I come to a stop, funny how the placing of the maf changes things like that.

Things that make you say hmmmm.

You wont be able to recirculate it. You shouldnt have a problem adjusting it to stay closed at idle. You will however go rich on the shifts and if your good (and you dont have a cat) you might even blow flames.

Mr. Spool: yes, blow through setups are the only way to remedy it w/out an emanage or standalone. So how many MAF's have you gone through anyways? If none yet, just wait.

USDM: You won't be able to recirc it but the type H's sound really good. You'll at least like how it sounds.

if it's got a single port, you can recirc it. if it doesn't have a single port, you can't recirc it.

H34 has one port.
H doesn't.
