ok well yah ive been asking a bunch of questions I know, but for the last few days besides the ex leak the srs been running pretty good, and even today it is, its a little warmer out today but heres what is goin on, We didnt take her out crazy today, pretty much like normal, breakin it in a bit,

its still boosting normal, and engine temp is a steady 180, but the hot pipe is a lot hotter now, Is it supposed to be really hot like valve cover hot. also It was smoking a little bit from the turbo area. like not real bad just a lil, also under boost it didnt seem as fast as previous. is this heatsoak or what. the cold pipe was a lil warm but deffinitely not even close to the heat of the hot pipe. its getting up to boost just like it did before, also on the safc the knock was reading around 3 and it went up to 13 for a split second and then went back to 2-3 and like 1-0. just wondering, dont really care if it is the turbo as I think im going to replace it. but I dont want to drive it if Im going to do bad things to it. thx.

is your exhaust leak coming from the turbo to mani flange? cuz if it is thats where the smoke is coming from... if not then your turbos seals might be on they're way out...

You'll get some white smoke comin out cuz of the new turbo gaskets (if they are new). They should go away after a short while. Cold pipe will still get pretty warm as does the hot pipe (hotter). Altho im using a SMIC, not sure how it is with a FMIC yet.

thats what i said then a few days later the seals went and i am now buying a new turbo. clean the engine off by the turbo and pull off the hotpipe and check for oil buildup and check if theres buildup where you cleaned. then youll know what it is, but its probably gasket sealant
