OK i just recently finished my SR swap, the car runs great, but when i start it up cold(first start of the day) it just cranks and will try to start, it will jump to like 200rpm and die and keep cranking.
If i let it crank for like 5 seconds and then start it, it will idle at like 400-500 rpms and then after ~5 seconds the idle will jump to like 1300 and run fine, when the car warms up the idle drops to ~800rpms so that all sounds normal. When i start it up any other time during the day it starts fine, any reason she doesnt like to start up initially?

well it is a cold start... but when my car started doing that, it led to just cranking, then it turned out my ECU was on its way to crapping out... and finally, it did... so id just watch the ECU.. even though it might not be the problem, it wont hurt to check..

Im having similar problems. Some people will say its the tps or iacv but when I read them with conzult the sensors check out fine. My car runs fine once its warm too. When starting the car in the morning I just have to hold the throttle to the floor and crank it for a couple of seconds until it comes to life. I don't let it rev very high, it just stumbles for the first few seconds and then jumps to around 1400rpms.

im going to investigate a little more but i suppose it could be the ECU, i was having a weird issue with the ECU relay, it wouldnt let the ECU shut off, then it just stopped...very odd

sounds just like mine, its annoying tho because i have an auto start and I cant use it if the car wont start up on its own =\

Wow, it sounds like lots of people have this problem, I guess I'm not alone. But has anyone fixed it without replacing the ecu? I was hoping it would be a cheaper fix than that.

well.. after the problem my fuel pump wouldnt turn on and the car would just crank and crank... but no spark neither.... it turned out it was the ECU... and it all started with the problem your having now...

I've swapped ecu's and nothing changed. I have remote start too, and id really like it to start with that so the heater will have the car warmed up by the time I get in.

don't mess around with that it is a simple issue that will take 5min to fix look at ecu make sure that the orange wire from ecu is connected to the orange wire comming from dash my car had same problem did a little research on here and boom 5 min. later never had problem again just make sure that orange wire is connected. and it should fix problem i would do this before i would messs around with ecu.

Are you referring the the start signal wire at pin 34? Its connected. Ecu's are easy to swap, I just happened to have a spare ecu I was installing a daughterboard in.
