What would cause higher than spec fuel pressure in a fuel injected vehicle?
a -clogged fuel filter
b -clogged injector
c -vacuum line pulled off regulator

A: Causes lower pressure
B: Could be, not likely. The others will still flow fine, the the rest is bypassed via the FPR.
C: Yes. Vacuum lowers the pressure to keep the pressure differential across the injector tip @ 43.5psi...so under vacuum the FPR lowers pressure b/c the fuel is in effect being sucked out of the injector - Under boost, the FPR raises pressure to keep the flow up.
With a KA/SR, fuel pressure is 43.5psi with no vacuum source...and ~34 or so with vacuum line connected, engine running (as long as it's pulling good vacuum).

So did you pass your test yet?
Most people I know who have taken the test fail the customer relations portion.

Nah, Test Only shops aren't allowed to make repairs. But I did buy a lamp inspection manual... too bad I kinda have no idea where it is though.
