What is everyone's normal operating temps while ac is running?
Here's my setup:
KA-T
Nismo Tstat
Koyo Rad w/ blitz cap
New Gates water pump
Taurus fan wired on high
50/50 coolant w/ water wetter
With AC off cruising around the car sits around 165F, No more than 175F on the hottest days and around 185F with sustained interstate driving.
With AC on it sits around 205F cruising around and will climb up to 220F with interstate driving.
I know the first suggestion is to go back to a mechanical fan. That isn't an option. I was running one and after installing the Koyo I noticed the shroud was extremely close to the blades. Sure enough, within a couple of days the fan ate the shroud. Now I'm running Megan mounts which raises the motor, and I'm almost positive there's no way it's going to fit now. Even so, I don't want to run a mechanical fan.
It's also important to note that once I get off the interstate the temps will immediately drop back to around 205-210F. I'm planning to take the car on a 6+ hour road trip at the end of the month and would like to be able to use AC. Should I worry about the 220F temps? I'm thinking about getting a small pusher fan and putting it on the front of the condenser wired to come on when the AC is engaged.
In for comments since im in a similar situation. I've got circuit sport fan controller and im seeing anywhere between 87-94c(188-201) driving around. I drive a bit on highway from college for maybe 15mins and see it hit around 94 with/without AC sometimes higher depending on how long I drive. Seen temps hit around 97 and that one night did a good amount of city driving but on long main road going 50-60 for 20 mins then basically hoped on the highway right after to do the same drive from school to home. Ive got
built ka-t big single got 200 miles left on break in then back on e85 and 1050x IDs for a nice 400whp.

I think your best bet is to do a smaller fan hooked up to the condenser unit like oem fan and then do an oil cooler. The higher temps really at that point have nothing to do with coolant but more oil pressure/rpm because if youre driving on 95 or turnpike you should be doing a good 60-80 and with our gearing we a reving the piss out of it from 3-4k
I know once I sort out this leak in my AC since it was bliss having it for a few days I'd want to cut up my fan shroud to do the bigger mishimoto race fans along with an oil cooler plus rad cover. Also switched from chuki front to type and plan to do some r33 vents and have the cooler by the pass signal light so whole front should get a ton more air. Want to maybe drive up to tails of dragon from south fl which is a pretty decent drive around november/december. Then after that maybe try go up to new york.

Yeah I have a 4.3 and sr trans, so I'm spinning a little higher. 4k in 5th is right around 78mph for me. Oil cooler is definitely on the docket.
The tail is actually where I'm headed at the end of the month lol. If all else fails I'll just run with no ac. I've done so for 3 years in this car
Let me know how the drive goes! Ive got a vsld and regular ka tran so yeah im a bit lower. I hate the gearing but maybe once I do a z32 swap or cd009 it might get better havent looked into that part yet.
I'll try check out with my leak and get it recharged this week if its nothing major. Hopefully an oring or maybe clogged somewhere since it did sit for a good year. I went to pull vaccum early last year may and the next day my stock ka bent two rods haha. Ill also try rebleed and throw in the water wetter and check out my gauge since I think either my oil or water temp probe wire is dead. If its my one on the rad and im seeing 94-97 oil then im guessing im well below that for water temp. Both worked at one point but the make the wires so thin they like to slip of the fitting.

im in a similar situation with my Sr...no AC its around 178...when ac is on gets in the 200s
i have two temp sensors one in lower hose and one in the upper hose
lately my lower hose temp will read 200 and upper will be around 190
I have notice that with a large radiator my clutch fan turns on more often, even when I'm not pushing the car hard.
I run a Mishi-shitty-moto and the car runs about 10c warmer than stock Nissan radiator, been like that for the last two years. My clutch fan ate through the shroud too but I used jb weld and some tape to as a mold to fill in the hole.
The true test is to hold a piece of paper in front of the bumper, where the air duct is to the radiator, and see if the fan at idle can suck and hold the paper against the condenser. If it doesn't then start looking at duction holes or straighten out the condenser find to allow more air flow( I think there is a tool for that).
Other wise the issue is probably air in the system as your PV=nRT is not working. Also, I don't take the radiator cap out of the equation, aftermarket radiators have the shittiest caps, mine sucks in air after I turn the engine off, I can hear it gurgling, and the sound changes as I start knocking or wiggling it.
220 seems kinda high.
Mine only did that when I had air bubbles in my system.
Have you ever cleaned your AC condenser? When I cleaned mine out, my AC ran much cooler, and my temps dropped as well.

I was going to ask if you've ever cleaned it. You can buy AC condenser cleaning foam at Home Depot for 5-6 dollars a can. One can can do two cars.

My car never goes over 190 even in 100+ degree weather car was cool. My oil thinned out to 19psi after continuous hot lapping when drifting before my temps went above 190.
My average oil pressure is 18-20psi driving but sometimes I hit around 94-96c It drops to 15-16psi... I need to drain my coolant switch to distilled and water wetter asap and maybe do some hood raiser till I order either a big blower fan 16in for infront of radiator or swap out my mishi ones for the race fans. 400ish for fans seems so wasteful but im in florida so :/

Is that with AC on? Like I said before, with AC off I never really see over 185. I have yet to take it to the track since going turbo(also a bottom mount t28), but I can do as many pulls as I want and it still stays around 175 on a hot day, 160 on a cool day. With AC on and driving around town it sticks around 200, it's only on the interstate that it gets to 220F, but it doesn't really go past that unless the shit Taurus fan kills the relay because it uses a ridiculous amount of power to run. I'll try cleaning my condenser once I replace the compressor as it locked up on me today.
Also, 15-16psi seems really low while driving. I need to get a new oil pressure sending unit for my gauge, but I remember on my SR it would around 30psi while cruising
Oh driving I get regular 30-60psi depending on rpm. Only idle is when I see that which im assuming what falkon was referencing.

Be careful with the Mishimoto fan shrouds. I had an older model that didn't allow enough airflow to pass through them due to the small fan holes and to make matters worse, the fans were pretty weak. I had a pair with the shroud and my engine would overheat on the freeway with the A/C on. I eventually took off the shroud and just ran the fans which helped, but then the fans weren't very efficient at pulling the heat from the radiator. I then went with an altima fan upgrade and never looked back.
On a warm day my engine is around 85*C cruising w/ no A/C(no fans) and around 75*C with the A/C on(both fans on)..yes it's actually colder with the A/C on. I used the stock electric A/C fan circuit to wire in the fans so they kick on at about 92*C. Hands down one of the best mods I've ever done and they fit on the s14 radiator very nicely. I also have a giant oil cooler which helps a lot also.

190 with ac, 180 without. + 10° when temps over 100F.
Stock kade.

With AC on the car never goes above 180 cruising. On the track I only used the AC going between courses.
No point in using AC while on track and you must drive with windows down.
For reference, I have nismo motor mounts and the GK tech fan clears with the shroud. Everything works ok.

I think what I'm going to do is wire in the altima fans I have sitting from my s14. If that doesn't fix it then I'll give the clutch fan setup another shot.
