My motor idles really weird, almost like its missfiring sometimes. Timing is 20 degrees, my friends sr had timing of 35 and it idled fine. My car is WAYYY faster then his on the same setup and feels like it pulls harder in higher rpm sometimes. Could i have cams and not know it? My motor came in the front clip with a new clutch.

Isnt timing suppose to be 15 deg. btdc? Ya if your friend has 35deg. timing no wonder your faster.

Timing SHOULD be 15 Deg btdc.
What you want is ignition base timing.
You're checking timing with ecu in control
Simple,
Warm engine up,turn motor off, disconnect TPS ( throttle position sensor) with engine off, start up engine, check timing with gun, play with the CAS ( crank angle sensor) set to 15 deg, secure CAS, snap throttle ( quick rev), let idle .. adjust idle if needed via IAA on intake manifold.

you engine wouldn't work at all if it didn't have cams....
if you wanna check what cams you have, take off the valve cover and look
